Has any user research platforms worked really well for you?

I’m currently looking into user research platforms and wanted to get some early input from folks who’ve used tools in this space. G2 highlights a few that I’ve started looking at, but I’m hoping to hear what’s been helpful in real-world projects. These are the ones that caught my eye so far:

UserTesting

Offers moderated and unmoderated testing, plus tools to gather video and audio feedback from users. Seems like a good fit for teams that need fast, structured input.

Lyssna

Focuses on first-click testing, surveys, and preference tests. It looks useful for validating design decisions early, especially when testing multiple ideas.

Hotjar

Well known for heatmaps and session recordings. Probably more lightweight than some of the others, but still a solid option for spotting friction in live interfaces.

Dovetail

Built for organizing and tagging qualitative feedback. Looks like it’s best suited for teams doing interviews or managing a lot of open-ended responses.

Qualtrics Strategy & Research (formerly CoreXM)

Built for broader enterprise needs, especially survey-heavy research. Offers a flexible study design, though it might be more than needed for smaller teams.
