Tenable products look for vulnerabilities in systems and devices. This way you can fix those before the bad gues get in. Think of it this way. Remember the bank heist movies where the guy watches when the guards make their rounds, what alarm system is being used, what the ID cards look like, the model of the safe, etc. They they get a hold of the manufacture of the alarm and safe or get the same model and figure out how to defeat it? Or maybe they just walk around trying doors and windows to see what is left open. This software does the same constantly (becauee things change constantly) and helps you figure out where your biggest holes are.
