Specification Management is the process of building and collecting DNA-level information, or specifications, for products and packaging into a centralized system. Specification Management is the key to making products and packaging efficiently while also mitigating risks.
Specright enables companies to manage these specifications throughout their entire supply chains for more efficient operations.

What does Specright do?What does Specright do?

Unlike other platforms, Specright has been issued a patent for the unique “many-to-many” data relationship structure, fundamental to the technology's functionality.
Without Specright, specification data is typically housed in an array of static systems – whether it’s email, spreadsheets, legacy systems, or shared drives. These static systems often result in siloed data that lacks the accessibility and standardization needed to function as a source of truth for the supply chain, inhibiting collaboration.
The many-to-many relationship structure enables companies to link together all the data related to making a product, from its packaging specifications, quality specifications, manufacturing specifications, and more. With the many-to-many data linkages, it’s easy to make and manage specification changes, as they automatically propagate through all shared linkages.

Question on: Specright
How many customers are asking for more PLM capabilities within Specright?Do other current customers of Specright request lifecycle management capabilities or enhancements currently? Do the majority of customers use the platform for data management only? If so, where or what tool is the lifecycle of a physical product tracked?

PLMs have many benefits and are ingrained in many companies although, for Process Manufacturing, PLMs don’t support recipe management, ingredients, or formulas very well. PLMs today are trying to add spec management modules into their systems although this is not the same as being built on a SDM model; the data PLMs capture is still static and not easily searchable.
Unlike PLM systems, Specright starts with spec-level data, enabling you to easily search at the component level, create reports, and collaborate with suppliers. We live in the information age - PLMs were built to manage the process and static docs - but now companies should be looking to manage data first not process first.
