What Is Remote Support? How It Helps Solve IT Problems
Remote Support Software Discussions
We're looking at which remote support tools pull knowledge base resources into the support workflow, so techs are not switching tabs mid-session. Honest note: reviews here speak more to ticketing and workflow integrations than to knowledge base specifically, so the KB piece is partly a community question. What we're hoping to find:
- Support sessions that connect to your ticketing and knowledge tools
- Less context-switching for techs mid-issue
- Integrations that fit an existing helpdesk stack
From the remote support category:
- LogMeIn Rescue: reviewers cite ServiceNow and Salesforce connectors that tie sessions into workflow.
- Zoho Assist: integrates tightly with Zoho Desk and the wider Zoho support stack.
- BeyondTrust Remote Support: integrates with corporate tools and ServiceNow for session traceability.
For teams that wanted knowledge base and workflow in one flow, which tool actually connected them? Or did you still jump to a separate KB during sessions?
Hey G2 community, I'm researching which remote support vendors have the strongest mobile and cross-platform support, since mixed device fleets expose the gaps fast. In the remote support category, three come up most: TeamViewer, Splashtop Remote Support, and AnyDesk. The wider list:
- TeamViewer: broad coverage across Windows, Mac, Linux, and mobile that reviewers rely on.
- Splashtop Remote Support: strong unattended access across Windows, Mac, Android, and iOS with multi-monitor support.
- AnyDesk: lightweight cross-platform access reviewers say launches almost instantly.
- ISL Online: Windows, Mac, Linux, plus iOS and Android, though reviewers say Mac and mobile control have gaps.
- RemotePC: reliable cross-device access, including web access with no install.
For mixed fleets, which tool covered mobile and every OS well? And where did one platform, often mobile or Mac, get second-class support?
I'm comparing remote support tools on reliability specifically, based on reviews from customer support teams. From the remote support category:
- ISL Online: reviewers report supporting hundreds of devices with no connection issues, and configurable quality by connection type. Did it stay stable across your fleet?
- Zoho Assist: broadly reliable with smooth access, though reviewers note occasional lag on weak internet. Did reliability hold on your users' connections?
- TeamViewer: the long-standing default, reliable across platforms, though some flag cost at scale. Did it stay dependable as you grew?
For customer support teams, which tool was most reliable session after session? And did reliability hold up on poor connections and mobile, or only on solid networks?
