Great package repository with the option to promote package from development to production repo

We have switched to packagecloud recently. The one feature I really like is the ability to "Promote" packages from one repository to the other. That allows us to test new packages much faster than ever before. We upload packages that are ready for testing to our Dev repository, and when we are ready to release it, it takes a single CLI command or a single click on the packagecloud web UI.

Easy to use yum/deb repository manager

Simple to use interface and command-line tool that allows for us to quickly deploy our installation packages for all flavors of Ubuntu, Debian, CentOS, and Raspbian for our clients. We used the command-line tool and integrated it into our CI server to quickly deploy these packages. They also include scripts that allow our users to install the repository to access our packages easily. Adding a new distro or version is as simple as updating our CI to deploy that new version, and it is immediately available.

Repository management made easy

Packagecloud allowed us to create an APT easily repository in a matter of minutes. Besides this, integrating with popular CI services like Travis CI allows us to continuously push updates to our users. I also welcome its web interface as it makes it really useful to manage a repository even when I'm not on my computer. Packagecloud offers usage statistics, and we can create as many repositories as we need. Their documentation was easy to follow and made moving to the service a breeze. The repositories are also signed with a GPG key. The API is pretty straightforward to use with Travis CI. Lastly, Packagecloud supports OSS projects, like ours, making it a no-brainer to start using it.
