## About YubiKey
Yubico is a modern cybersecurity company, focused on stopping cyber attacks in their tracks. Most attackers don’t break in—they log in. Companies often rely on legacy passwords and authenticator apps, that are easily bypassed by modern AI-powered hackers and create a false sense of security. We believe the future is passwordless, and Yubico's security keys, known as YubiKeys, deliver unbeatable protection by eliminating these vulnerabilities while enabling a fast, frictionless experience users love.

## YubiKey Reviews
 ### 1. Reliable, hardware-based MFA that works seamlessly across devices

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 23, 2025

**What do you like best about YubiKey?**

What I like most about YubiKey is its reliability and simplicity in daily use.
Once it’s set up, authentication is fast, predictable and works consistently across devices.
I use my YubiKey 5C NFC every day on macOS as well as on iPhone and iPad, and it integrates seamlessly into my workflow without adding friction.

From a security perspective, it provides strong protection against phishing and credential theft, which is a major advantage compared to app-based or SMS-based MFA.
It’s also easy to explain and demonstrate to customers, which helps with adoption and acceptance in professional environments.

**What do you dislike about YubiKey?**

There are only minor downsides.
Initial setup and understanding the different supported protocols can be slightly confusing for less technical users, especially when used across multiple platforms.

Additionally, users need to be aware that losing the key requires proper backup or recovery planning.
However, these are more general considerations of hardware-based security keys and not specific flaws of YubiKey itself.

**What problems is YubiKey solving and how is that benefiting you?**

YubiKey solves the problem of weak or easily compromised second factors.
It significantly reduces the risk of phishing attacks and account takeovers by providing hardware-backed authentication that cannot be intercepted or reused.

In my daily work, this results in higher security with less effort compared to traditional MFA methods.
For customer environments, it helps to raise the overall security level while keeping the login experience simple and reliable, which is a clear benefit for both IT and end users.

 ### 2. Phishing-Resistant Authentication Made Simple

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Richard P. | Product Manager, Computer Software, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 09, 2022

**What do you like best about YubiKey?**

I like YubiKey because it is simple, easy to use, and provides robust cybersecurity. It packages deep technical expertise into a robust and simple key. Setting it up was very easy and straightforward.

**What do you dislike about YubiKey?**

I think it could be improved if there was a way to register YubiKeys so that if you lose them, someone could return them to you based on the serial number or barcode. It'd be nice if they had a lost YubiKey return service. Should be fairly trivial for them to implement.

**What problems is YubiKey solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use YubiKey for authentication that's phishing resistant. It's simple and easy to use, offering robust cybersecurity, all packaged in a simple key.

 ### 3. Effortless Security and Seamless Authentication with YubiKey

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Arun J. | system administrator, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 25, 2025

**What do you like best about YubiKey?**

YubiKey provides exceptionally robust security with virtually no inconvenience. It is quick, dependable, and functions smoothly across various devices and accounts, all without requiring batteries, additional apps, or an internet connection. The plug-and-tap authentication process is effortless, making it easy to use while greatly lowering the chances of phishing or unauthorized account access.

**What do you dislike about YubiKey?**

Some services still lack native support for YubiKey, which may restrict its usefulness in specific situations. If you lose the key and haven't set up proper backups, it can be quite inconvenient. The initial setup process might also seem somewhat technical for those who aren't familiar with such devices, and since the physical key is small, it's easy to misplace unless you keep it attached to something.

**What problems is YubiKey solving and how is that benefiting you?**

YubiKey addresses the issue of weak or easily compromised authentication methods by requiring a physical key for login, which helps protect my accounts from phishing, password leaks, and unauthorized access. This approach adds a robust layer of security while keeping the authentication process fast, dependable, and hassle-free. I also appreciate that it lessens my reliance on mobile-based OTPs, which can sometimes fail or be intercepted, providing me with more consistent and secure access to my accounts.

 ### 4. Ultra-Compact Security That Just Works Effortlessly

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 17, 2025

**What do you like best about YubiKey?**

I’ve been using the YubiKey 5C Nano as a hardware security key, and overall it has been a very solid experience. The biggest advantage of this model is its ultra-low-profile USB-C design, which allows it to stay permanently plugged into a laptop without sticking out or getting in the way. Once inserted, it’s easy to forget it’s even there.

From a security standpoint, the YubiKey 5C Nano delivers exactly what it promises. It provides strong, reliable two-factor authentication and works seamlessly with services that support FIDO2, U2F, OTP, and smart card authentication. Logging in is fast and consistent, and authentication feels both secure and convenient.

Setup was straightforward, especially for common platforms and services. After initial configuration, daily use is effortless — authentication is nearly instant and requires minimal interaction. The key has been extremely reliable, with no disconnects or recognition issues.

**What do you dislike about YubiKey?**

That said, the Nano form factor has a trade-off. Because it’s so small and designed to stay plugged in, it’s not ideal for frequent removal or use across multiple devices. It’s best suited for a primary laptop rather than a keychain or mobile use. Additionally, users new to hardware security keys may face a small learning curve when configuring advanced features.

**What problems is YubiKey solving and how is that benefiting you?**

This is a software that allows you to transfer data from one key to another.

 ### 5. Effortless and Secure Authentication for Organizations

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

Yubikey makes authentication easier and more secure for organizations.

**What do you dislike about YubiKey?**

Yubikeys can be challenging to set up, especially if the team's technical expertise varies.

**What problems is YubiKey solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Yubikeys help us by offering phishing-resistant multi-factor authentication, making the login process both easier and more secure.

 ### 6. Uncomplicated management and convincing documentation

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Civil Engineering | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 17, 2025

**What do you like best about YubiKey?**

The management is straightforward, and the documentation impresses with its quality and user-friendly usability.

**What do you dislike about YubiKey?**

One is overwhelmed with a multitude of features, which on one hand is an advantage because many options are available. On the other hand, this also presents the dilemma of choice, and one must first figure out which option is best suited.

**What problems is YubiKey solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Passwords and OTPs are now considered outdated. Therefore, phishing-proof authentication methods have become indispensable.

 ### 7. FIDO2 security and top-notch ease of use

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Consulting | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 26, 2025

**What do you like best about YubiKey?**

Ease of use is on point, with security mainly ensured thanks to FIDO2. Easy to use and I systematically use it on all my services.

**What do you dislike about YubiKey?**

The price may represent an obstacle to adoption, but given the security offered, it remains understandable.

**What problems is YubiKey solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The main problem currently concerns phishing attacks, and FIDO2 offers an effective solution to address them.

 ### 8. Security Made Easy

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** David M. | Cyber Security Engineer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 25, 2025

**What do you like best about YubiKey?**

I use Yubico's Yubikey everyday for my job. Yubikeys are easy to setup and can be done in a matter of minutes. Instructions are simple enough for even none tech savvy people to deploy and use them. This allows MFA to be implemented across a whole platform with ease, keeping our organizations documents secure with the press of a button. Highly recommend for those that lose passwords easily, becoming the best way we have found to keep our logins secure.

**What do you dislike about YubiKey?**

Though Yubikeys can be used in just about any type of login you can think of, we do come across platforms it cannot be used on occasionally.

**What problems is YubiKey solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Making sure our passwords and logins are secure.

 ### 9. Effortless Access and User-Friendly Experience

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**What do you like best about YubiKey?**

The securing of mobile devices and other points of entry.

**What do you dislike about YubiKey?**

The costs for the functions are comparatively high.

**What problems is YubiKey solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Customers do not have a solution for multi-factor authentication, but rather create entry points by using the same devices.

 ### 11. Effortless Simplicity Meets Strong Security

**What problems is YubiKey solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Securing my most important accounts like banking etc.

 ### 12. Great Products, Customer Service, And Compliance Enabling Peace of Mind!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jason R. | Director of I.T., Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 25, 2025

**What do you like best about YubiKey?**

The price per key is decently priced. But ultimately them having FIPS validation ensures that I pass a huge cyber security compliance obligation from FBI CJIS as well as NIST standards. Beyond the product is the people, they have incredible customer service. Unparalleled to others.

**What do you dislike about YubiKey?**

I dislike that I cannot afford to hire them. Joking aside, I have zero dislikes.

**What problems is YubiKey solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It allowed me to move closer to zero trust methodology with passwordless authentication via CBA and be compliant with FBI CJIS and NIST standards for MFA requirements.

 ### 13. The Number One Thing You Can Do To Improve Your Security

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Joshua P. | Chief Investment Officer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 26, 2025

**What do you like best about YubiKey?**

It's the best value in cybersecurity. Mandatory for everyone on our team because it allows us to enhance security for even non-technical users. We just buy the device, configure it once, then their security is amplified for the duration of their employment.

We use it every day for every employee.

**What do you dislike about YubiKey?**

The Yubico desktop app needs work on Mac. It hangs up and has to be killed manually from time to time...

**What problems is YubiKey solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Securing account access for our financial services firm. Helping with business continuity.

 ### 14. Secure and Reliable Authentication with Yubico

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer & Network Security | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 16, 2024

**What do you like best about YubiKey?**

Yubico’s hardware-based authentication provides an exceptional level of security. The YubiKey is easy to use, quick to set up, and works seamlessly across various platforms and services. Its compatibility with multiple authentication protocols like FIDO2, OTP, and WebAuthn makes it highly versatile. Additionally, the offline authentication feature is extremely helpful when working in restricted or no-internet environments.

**What do you dislike about YubiKey?**

The only downside is the limited support for some legacy applications that do not integrate with modern authentication standards. Also, for new users, the initial configuration can seem a bit technical. However, once set up, it works flawlessly.

In our organisation we face a lot of issues when we integrate yubikey c series with azue AD connected Devices.

**What problems is YubiKey solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Yubico has significantly enhanced our organization’s security by eliminating the risks associated with password-only authentication. With YubiKeys, we have implemented multi-factor authentication (MFA) across critical systems, which ensures that only authorized personnel can access sensitive data. This has greatly reduced the chances of phishing attacks and improved our overall security posture. The device’s robustness and ease of use have also saved us time in resetting passwords or troubleshooting login issues.

**Official Response from David Olsen:**

> Thank you for taking the time to review your experience working with Yubico's YubiKeys. We appreciate your perspective and experiences.

 ### 15. Yubikeys help secure Critical Infrastructure

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Oil & Energy | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 25, 2025

**What do you like best about YubiKey?**

We specifically picked Yubikeys because they gave us the ability to have MFA without the need for Internet access (as many power control systems are not connected to the cloud).

**What do you dislike about YubiKey?**

No issues with Yubikey. Programming and usage was straight forward.

**What problems is YubiKey solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We needed to provide MFA on a SCADA platform to meet customer requirements and for IEC-62443 certification. Additionally, we needed to use MFA on systems that were not connected to the Internet.

 ### 16. Ease of use, perfect for 2FA

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Industrial Automation | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 27, 2024

**What do you like best about YubiKey?**

It makes a strong 2 factor authentication for any app or website. Sinced it's using a physical key, it's highly secure. It's very easy to use with a PC via the USB port or with a mobile with the RFID chip, one tap to access all you 2FA passcodes. I use it everyday.

**What do you dislike about YubiKey?**

I don't have any downside I can think of, maybe the fact that you need to always carry it with you, but it's easy to attach it to your keychain. I also bought a second one for backup in case I lose the first one.

**What problems is YubiKey solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I can have all my 2FA generation code at the same place, now I need a secured access for many customer portals, and it helps me save time by having everythin linked with one single device.

 ### 17. Yubikey Review

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Lavya P. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 25, 2023

**What do you like best about YubiKey?**

I recently got on to using Yubikey, it's easy to use and a quick app to install. As a first-time user as well, it was an easy learning curve and is pretty compatible with all devices to use- further enhancing UX

**What do you dislike about YubiKey?**

Honestly, nothing. Its really easy to use, especially in comparison to other apps of MFA like DUO

**What problems is YubiKey solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Easy MFA, allowing me to add an extra layer of privacy and security to my work- limited accessibility to hackers

 ### 18. Great security key

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Mohit G. | CICStep Software Engineer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 19, 2023

**What do you like best about YubiKey?**

Its a unique software and adds two layers of security that traditional MFAs can't match up to. And despite this its very user-friendly. Virtual support from models like U2F ensures my content is safe and secure.

**What do you dislike about YubiKey?**

While it offers services that other MFA software cant, it also charges a heavy price for these services. Thus investment into Yubico only makes sense if you are part of a large organisation.

**What problems is YubiKey solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Its a literal saviour for my online accounts to be safe from hackers and scammers. Keys are super durable, and portable as well making it easy to carry.

 ### 19. Yubikey as MFA solution factor

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Aditya J. | Security Delivery Analyst - Identity and Access Management, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 20, 2021

**What do you like best about YubiKey?**

I have been using this yubikey physical device since last 6 months when I joined current organization. In my current organization, yubikey is being used as MFA solution which is paired with PingID. As per current client security policy, some phone device model are not allowed to pair with pingid so here in this case, yubikey can be used to authenticate users as multi factor authentication.
The best part I like about yubikey is, it does not require finger print. When paired and asked for MFA, you just need to insert yubikey device in system and touch the yubikey and a random code will be generated from there which will authenticate you. Very easy to use. If anything goes wrong in yubikey configuration we can recreate configuration using yubico manager or yubikey personalization tool.

**What do you dislike about YubiKey?**

In the last section, I mentioned about yubico manager tool. With the help of this tool, we can reset PIN for yubikey and create new configuration as well. One thing I dislike about yubikey is, suppose user forgot yubikey PIN and want to reset the PIN. They installed yubico manager which required admin rights to install and also after opening the application, the sector for yubikey PIN reset also requires admin rights in the system then only users will be able to reset the PIN. The some of the organization does not allow to employees have admin rights on system. It voilates security standards.

**What problems is YubiKey solving and how is that benefiting you?**

As mentioned in my current project, I observed couple of concerns where user forgot yubikey PIN and want to reset. So we suggested to connect local IT team to get the admin rights so that they can access yubico manager PIN reset section but organization was not allowing to have admin rights on the system. So they got help from local IT team to get the application installed and using administrator credentials, team only helped them.

 ### 20. YubiKey - Excellent 2FA solution

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Daan K. | Managing Partner, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 30, 2022

**What do you like best about YubiKey?**

Great security for an affordable price - with extras

**What do you dislike about YubiKey?**

There is no yubikey device that has USB-A and USB-C in combination with RFID

**What problems is YubiKey solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Secure login, SSH an certificate key storage and production

 ### 21. A Solid Method for Two-Factor Authentication

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Transportation/Trucking/Railroad | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 06, 2022

**What do you like best about YubiKey?**

I like that you can perform two-factor authentication by simply touching a USB key, which is far easier than finding an authenticator code on your phone.

**What do you dislike about YubiKey?**

The only real downside to this product is that you need to be extremely careful not to lose your key! Otherwise, it's been fine so far.

**What problems is YubiKey solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We utilize Yubikeys to ensure that our company's confidential data is safe even if our account passwords are compromised. You can't get into our accounts unless you have our passwords and our Yubikey.

 ### 22. Yubikey usage in HIPAA environments

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Michael H. | President/CEO, Information Technology and Services, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 01, 2019

**What do you like best about YubiKey?**

I absolutely love Yubikeys. They're highly versatile, and can be used for so many things. Right now, for my HIPAA clients, I assign one to each user. When they walk up to a workstation, they input the key, and it acts as a smart card. The button on the key also acts as a OTP for two-factor authentication. When they step away, they pull the key out, they get logged out.

**What do you dislike about YubiKey?**

As of right now, I can't find anything wrong with Yubico and Yubikeys.

**Recommendations to others considering YubiKey:**

If you're looking for a great solution for MFA, and user authentication, without having to have physical smart cards, or use a phone for MFA, using a Yubikey is the way to go. I primarily service HIPAA clients (medical practices) and getting them up to spec on security is often difficult. Finding a solution that allows for MFA, and user login was difficult. I was originally using smart card readers with smart cards, and using authenticator apps. This not only proved tiresome, but expensive. Having one little device which can fit into your pocket, or on a lanyard makes it easy for both me, and my clients. Everyone is happy. The price is also incredibly inexpensive given what it can do.

**What problems is YubiKey solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I'm solving major security login issues with Yubico. Having them as an MFA option for my clients, as well as being able to use it as a smartcard on both Windows and Mac helps make my job a little easier.

 ### 23. Good security tool, but documentation is lacking.

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jan P. | Staff Engineer (DevOps), Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 09, 2019

**What do you like best about YubiKey?**

The Yubikey is an amazing little piece of hardware that acts as a two-factor token and provides significant security advantages. You can easily manage multiple keys and integrate it with your own software, or just use it with existing software/services that you already use.

**What do you dislike about YubiKey?**

The USB-C version doesn't have NFC capabilities, so if you want to use it on a PC with USB-C and on a cell phone with NFC, you have to carry two devices.

**Recommendations to others considering YubiKey:**

I couldn't find another tool that was as usable and capable for a similar cost. Yubico's Yubikey product is the best option.

**What problems is YubiKey solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We have an employee who is working a year abroad in several countries that have potential security issues. We are using the Yubikey to restrict access to his network services in a secure fashion and also to restrict access to his laptop and files. The hardware two-factor device is very usable for these functions.

 ### 24. Yubikeys are Amazing and Simple

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Randall D. | Head of Developer Advocacy, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 20, 2018

**What do you like best about YubiKey?**

I use my Yubikey almost every day for multi-factor authentication. It's super simple to use, easy to use pragmatically, and just provides a great experience for dealing with MFA -- especially when security is important.

**What do you dislike about YubiKey?**

The keys are a bit pricey (especially if you want them to work with mobile devices). If Yubico wants to get more widespread usage in the consumer market then lowering prices would probably be nice...

**Recommendations to others considering YubiKey:**

So long as you are able to keep your Yubikey on you and not lose it, it can really simplify MFA experiences. It's nice to have other MFA factors as backups (Authy, Google Authenticator, etc.).

**What problems is YubiKey solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I'm using my Yubikey devices for MFA purposes for work and personal apps. The main benefit is not using an insecure factor like SMS.

It also makes it easier to authenticate quickly with my Yubikey as I can just leave it plugged into my computer and tap the button anytime I need to reauthenticate.

 ### 25. Yubikey makes two-factor security easy

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Higher Education | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 19, 2018

**What do you like best about YubiKey?**

Yubikey by Yubico works great with LastPass to provide two-factor authorization into my save password vault. I feel confident in knowing that my passwords are secure because my Yubico Yubikey device stays on my key chain on my person at all times. Using it is as simply as plugging in the device to my laptop computer and using the hardware interface. My account name and password can be compromised remotely, but my account stays secure as long as I maintain physical possession of my Yubikey.

**What do you dislike about YubiKey?**

There are so many different types of Yubikeys on the market at this time, it is sometimes difficult to determine which product is right for me. Luckily, the Yubico website does a great job of comparing the different options for the various Yubikey versions available for purchase. I debated getting one of the micro devices, but I was fearful of using a device that was permanently installed into a machine rather than a device that I can carry around with me and use on multiple computers.

**Recommendations to others considering YubiKey:**

Be sure that the password management system that you select supports using Yubico devices.

**What problems is YubiKey solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I needed a secure, two-factor method to protect my saved passwords in LastPass. LastPass is a great password management system, but unless you have some sort of two-factor authentication in place, it is a dangerous way to store your passwords. With Yubico, I am able to feel very secure using this password management solution.

 ### 26. Amazing for ssh keys

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 19, 2019

**What do you like best about YubiKey?**

**What do you dislike about YubiKey?**

The GUI should be more easy to use. More tutorials will help a lot.

**Recommendations to others considering YubiKey:**

improve usage

**What problems is YubiKey solving and how is that benefiting you?**

encryption

 ### 27. Awesome, simple physical two factor authentication

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 21, 2018

**What do you like best about YubiKey?**

Yubico keys are simple to setup and use and have never failed me in three years of use.

**What do you dislike about YubiKey?**

Not all software supports security keys for 2 factor authentication.

**Recommendations to others considering YubiKey:**

Two factor auth is always worth implementing, and Yubico keys are the best way to implement physical two factor auth.

**What problems is YubiKey solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We use Yubico keys to secure all internal websites and our access certificates. We've radically simplified the security process while increasing our security overall.

 ### 28. Yubikey - The most economical way to implement 2FA in SMBs and small to medium size enterprises

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Gregory R. | Chief Technology Officer, Computer & Network Security, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**What do you like best about YubiKey?**

Although we primarily focus on enterprise customers, we have many SMBs. We have found that the Yubikey at $40 each is the cheapest and easiest to implement two-factor authentication (2FA) out there. It is very easy to implement and supports all major operating systems, many password vaults (lastpass for example), and the majority of Internet sites. It was trivial to implement on MAC OS, Windows, and in all browsers.

**What do you dislike about YubiKey?**

It only has two partitions. The first we use for a Smartcard and the second for one-time-passwords (OTP). It would be nice to have more, but it works fine for our customers and our needs at present. It also has a limit to the number of passwords you can store on it. Which would require more memory on the USB soft token. Again, nothing that has negatively impacted it.

**Recommendations to others considering YubiKey:**

There are many smaller companies making USB token based solutions. Most are clunky at best. Yubikey really has their act together with features and functionality. My daughter uses them at two hospitals she has been at. It gave her access to resources without knowing any passwords. This gave both hospitals a big win to eliminate the need for employees to know and use password based credentials. Healthcare is the greatest target for malicious or accidental insider attacks.

**What problems is YubiKey solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Since all breech reports for the past many years have shown that User ID and password have resulted in 100% of the breeches. It is critical that every organization implement two-factor authentication for VPN access, authenticating to their computing devices, web sites, and password vault.

 ### 29. Does What It Needs To

**Rating:** 2.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Financial Services | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 23, 2018

**What do you like best about YubiKey?**

It keeps us in PCI, while not being too difficult for the end user. Simply plug in before logging in.

**What do you dislike about YubiKey?**

It's very confusing to set up for the first time. It also creates a duplicate user icon for logging in.

**Recommendations to others considering YubiKey:**

Read up and re-read the setup instructions.

**What problems is YubiKey solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are simultaneously trying to stay within PCI standards and solving for multi-factor authentication on machines that have local logins.

**What do you like best about YubiKey?**

It’s a very sturdy little drive that lasted me for years. It keeps all my stuff private.

**What do you dislike about YubiKey?**

It’s really expensive and it’s hard to learn how to work it.

**What problems is YubiKey solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I do not worry about my passwords being stolen.

 ### 31. Very convenient and useful - hardware security

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**What do you like best about YubiKey?**

It's not easily hackable since its a hardware encrypted key. Its very helpful in storing sensitive data

**What do you dislike about YubiKey?**

It would be better if there was a waterproof version of the same. sometimes yubico keys get damaged

**What problems is YubiKey solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Software security and storing sensitive information and login 2FA

 ### 32. Simple Security Done Right

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**What do you like best about YubiKey?**

Easy to use and setup. Provides secure two factor authentication to protect valuable digital assets

**What do you dislike about YubiKey?**

Cumbersome if you forget to bring your yubikey usb dongle. One extra step before you can access your computer

**What problems is YubiKey solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Yubico solves security needs by protecting our network and computers from unauthorized access. We have seen reduced unauthorized login attempts

 ### 33. Great 2fa device to consider.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Education Management | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 30, 2017

**What do you like best about YubiKey?**

I love that I can change the encryption password whenever I want. I love that it integrates with google accounts and lastpass. I love that I can also store a long password.

**What do you dislike about YubiKey?**

Requires some technical skills to setup. So I'm not always willing to suggest to all my friends. Does. It work with iOS devices.

**Recommendations to others considering YubiKey:**

Always buy 2. In the event one device does you don't want to have to wait for a secondary device to come in the mail. This would leave you locked out of all of your accounts.

**What problems is YubiKey solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I work in the tech field so having a password that changes frequently is needed. In a growing age of stolen identity and resources, it helps me to not have to memorize passwords that can be bruteforced easily.

 ### 34. Yubico is easy to use, easy to install and easy to carry around.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Financial Services | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 10, 2016

**What do you like best about YubiKey?**

We used the product for multifactor authentication on company's online corporate accounts as well as access to personal computers. What I really liked the most was getting to use it quite quickly out of the box, it was easy to install and configure, and the documentation on the website made it easy for us to configure it's use on personal computer access. For the price point, it completely worked wonders for us.

**What do you dislike about YubiKey?**

We got the Yubikey Nano, we thought we weren't going to be using it a lot, but ended up using it on the go. We had to buy some keychains for the nano as we kept misplacing them. Configuring the Yubikey was an easy task, but I was really left wanting more than two configuration slots.

**What problems is YubiKey solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Added security to our employees and to our personal documents through a security key MFA. We got exactly what we paid and at a great price.

 ### 35. Fantastic Solution to 2-Factor

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Chemicals | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 12, 2016

**What do you like best about YubiKey?**

Fantastic solution for U2F and multifactor authentication. The ease of use and implementation is amazing and creates a much easier 2-factor system.

**What do you dislike about YubiKey?**

I wish they would include some storage into the device. I am already required to carry the device, if I could also use it as a flash drive I would be extremely happy.

**Recommendations to others considering YubiKey:**

Simple physical 2-factor device, It is extremely useful with U2F clients. Device is extremely simple but must be paired with another software (Lastpass) in order to fully utilize the device.

**What problems is YubiKey solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Multifactor authenticaion that is unique to each user and difficult to crack, but easy to use for individual users.
