But for me, the absolute ease with which I can create and publish a website, is such a fantastic tool to have in my tool kit. There is also a large library of assets, whether for presentations or websites, with functionality that is so easy to weave in. The product was basic and, the Cloud "add ons" were clumsy. For example, saving files to Dropbox was limited to saving to the root directory of your Dropbox directory. This meant giving tha system access to your entire Dropbox service. The lock-in was also unhelpful; it's not possible to edit your files if you downgrade to older desktop only versions. It was difficult to find information to help with migration in and out of the toolset. Upgrades and updates from older desktop versions are confusing. Support is poor. The cross device support was limited to a very broken and inconsistent browser based experience. Even if the product hasn't been used, the company insists on a 12 month non-refundable commitments. Customer supports response when I complained was to send the same email several times. After I asked for escalation, the reply was to tell me "it had been escalated to the CEO". I’m sorry to hear you didn’t enjoy your experience with Xara. I believe this review is for Xara Designer Pro, rather than Xara Cloud. Our products do allow users to save files to cloud storage providers (Google Drive, Dropbox, OneDrive) and these providers do have specific access requirements that any vendors must follow. Opening of any file is a user-triggered action and Xara does not access or open any files automatically. We do our best to make Xara files cross-compatible with all Xara products and with the previous desktop version. Editing your files is always possible with Xara, a user is never locked out from doing so no matter what version is in place, and you constantly have full access to your projects, being stored locally on your computer or in the cloud. In the case of Xara Cloud’s Pro+ package which includes the desktop app Xara Designer, after the 14 day trial you can choose between a monthly and yearly option. I enjoy that there is seemingly no shortage of photoshop and video making opportunities. I also appreciate that there are many formatting options for exporting an image. It makes my work harder to complete and I often need to seek help from a coworker. This disrupts both our days. My travel tablet was constantly saturated with tools that were necessary for my work leaving little space for anything else, Xara allowed me to optimize the operation of my tablet, since I can perform more than one function without having to change software. I used Xara at my workplace and was surprised at how good it is compared to Illustrator. You can do so much with it. It is a powerful program that is quick to get started in.
