WP Engine's support team is one of the best in the world. They are professional, responsive, and proactive. Even in situations where an issue is caused by a third-party, they are still willing to take any action they can including consulting and assisting you with how to talk with the third-party.

The interface for WP Engine is also very intuitive. If you've ever spent time in other hosting platforms, you know how difficult it can be to navigate around if you're managing multiple websites. WP Engine's UI makes it very clear and easy to navigate.

We've never had an issue with server performance in terms of speed or bandwidth. Every hosting service has moments of downtime but WP Engine does an excellent job of keeping that to an absolute minimum.

Anytime we setup a new site on our servers, we integrate with Smart Plugin Manager and we regularly pull sites down to our local machines using Local WP. Having that all available natively is a gamechanger.

WP Engine is the best hosting solution I’ve found yet, and I’ve been building websites for over a decade. It makes it easy to keep my sites updated and get a WordPress skeleton up in minutes. I like how easy it is to navigate and use. I can set up staging and development environments and push them to production. When I make changes, I like starting in a dev or staging environment, and WP Engine takes care of the link redirects so I don’t have to change them manually in the database. I would say sometimes I password protect a dev environment so it doesn't get crawled and when I remove that password it makes me login to wordpress where I usually forget my password and have to reset it. The support team is definitely a highlight; they are quick to answer, thorough, and often resolve issues for me, which is a relief because it takes some technical load off my hands. The delete option for environments could be improved. When I open a main environment and then switch to staging, selecting delete there actually deletes the entire site instead of just the staging environment. This created anxiety for me after I once deleted a fully developed e-commerce site. WP Engine's support is genuinely outstanding. Within minutes of opening a chat you're connected with a highly technical person who can actually solve your problem, not just read from a script. It's rare to encounter someone who can't resolve your issue on the spot, and they always share links and tools so you can handle similar things yourself next time.

The backend is clean, intuitive, and free from unnecessary clutter. One-click staging and dev environments are a huge time-saver, and rolling backups of around 40 days are critical for running a professional operation. Performance is noticeably better than my previous host, and pricing becomes very competitive once you're managing dozens of sites. Add-ons can be pricey for smaller clients but make a lot of sense at the enterprise level.

The main downside is that add-ons can be quite expensive, which makes it difficult to justify the cost for smaller clients.
