"Easy, streamlined experience"
5/5
What do you like best about Workshop?

Workshop has improved our internal organization around messaging and forced us to be more strategic about how we approach internal communications. The calendar feature has allowed us to plan ahead and not inundate team members with messages. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Workshop?

It would be a huge value add if Workshop offered a RSVP/event feature within the platform. As a company, we offer a lot of events and it would be helpful to house everything in one platform versus our current method of linking out to an external planning platform. "Great and Intuitive Program -- minor improvements could make a huge difference in user friendliness"
4.5/5
What do you like best about Workshop?

It is generally a really intuitive program. I was able to go in with very limited prior experience and successfully work out of templates easily. I also like how much of the program works in a drag and drop format, so I can easily move things around while I work. This was a really easy program to pick up and learn, and I feel confident I could easily pass along this knowledge to someone else and teach them to use this program as well. I am the first person outside of our marketing team that we launched the ability to use workshop for, an I am greatly enjoying it! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Workshop?

I dislike that I cannot add a background color to a section unless there is content within that section. I think for me, it would be easier to visualize the final product if they would just allow that placeholder color to be put there. I also like the photo and gif options included, but wish there were more of them. I also wish I could resize photos by simply pulling on the corners or sides of them the way you an in many other applications. Having to go back in select the photo again and then edit the size there makes it really difficult to get photos to be the size you would like on the page. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Cassandra Brooks of Workshop

Thank you so much for sharing your experience! We’re so glad to hear that Workshop has been easy to learn and that you’re enjoying creating your HR newsletters with it. It’s awesome to know the templates and drag-and-drop tools are helping make things faster and simpler to build.

We really appreciate your thoughtful feedback about photo resizing and background colors — that kind of insight helps us keep making Workshop even better.

Thank you again for being part of the Workshop community! 💙

"Excellent, easy to use internal comms platform!"
4.5/5
What do you like best about Workshop?

Incorporating Workshop into our internal communications has been a breeze and absolutely wonderful. For the first time, we actually have data that we can track, to see how our newsletters are performing! The intuitive design features make drafting my weekly emails easy, and the template feature saves me time each week. As one of the main users of the platform in our organization, I'm in Workshop every week drafting, planning, executing comms, and exporting data. We've only been using the platform for about 6 months, and it's provided us many insights! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Workshop?

We've come across some limitations in the template/design builder, but they appear to be more of a Gmail issue than Workshop (certain fonts not rendering appropriately). There is also some specific data I would love to have available to export directly from Workshop, but it is not, so I've been trying to create some separate scripts on my end to get me the data I need. "Intuitive to Use and Generates Insights with Data"
5/5
What do you like best about Workshop?

While we're still at the beginning of our internal comms journey, integrating this tool to level up our internal emails has been a game-changer. The platform is very easy to use, accessible, and gives us data that helps inform our strategies. The templates makes visually appealing emails easy, and the data allows for seamless retargeting. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Workshop?

One small thing that would be helpful is to have additional tagging functionality on the emails (or allow a single email to be part of more than one campaign when it comes to looking at analytics). For example, we have a large facilities project on the horizon that we sometimes talk about in standalone emails and other times as one item in a larger newsletter. It would be great to have these emails tagged as both part of our newsletter campaign and our project campaign. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Best internal email tool out there, based on extensive research and usage"
4.5/5
What do you like best about Workshop?

Web-based and works like an email marketing tool, rather than integrating with Outlook

Ability to have the emails come from anybody and replies go to anybody. You can truly send on behalf of senior leaders

Syncs very easily with HRIS data (for distribution lists)

Receive detailed data on each individual email recipient, which can then be grouped by your existing email distribution lists

Extensive formatting/design options, including ability to make it look like just a regular Outlook email

Implementation was pretty seamless

Customer service is not really ever needed, but it's good when you need it

More features if you want to pay for them (SharePoint/Teams integrations, improved customer service, embedded surveys, audience segmentation for different rows of emails, time zone sending, data API, etc.) Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Workshop?

There is one minor annoying footer at the bottom of the emails that I haven't been able to get rid of based on the way our email security is set up ("This email has been scanned by the Symantec Email Security.cloud service")

Sending a reply to an existing email is a little manual/cumbersome

The emails have fixed widths and so will not look 100% like a normal Outlook email

I wish I could customize the data reporting a little more (though there is an API if you pay for it) Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Easy to use and great for internal communication"
4.5/5
What do you like best about Workshop?

I really appreciate how easy Workshop is to use. The templates save me a ton of time, and everything feels really straightforward. Even when I’m juggling a lot, I can get a nice-looking message out quickly without overthinking it. It’s made internal comms feel more manageable and way less stressful. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Workshop?

The builder can be a little limiting when you’re trying to make something more custom or move elements around. It’s not a huge issue, but there are moments when it takes a few extra clicks to get things just right. Still, overall it’s a solid tool that keeps improving. "Extremely Helpful Dynamic Lists with Flexible, Intuitive Email Targeting"
4/5
What do you like best about Workshop?

The automatic/dynamic lists are extremely helpful and one of the main reasons we moved to Workshop. The process of creating one is intuitive and it gives you lots of flexibility to slice and dice. Moreover, when sending the email, you have the option to include (or remove) one-off people who may have been missed by the filters. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Workshop?

There are still some tiny things that could be improved, such as formatting within blocks (and the ease in which to make formatting changes). A small price to pay for an otherwise great platform. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Cassandra Brooks of Workshop

We're delighted to hear that our automatic/dynamic lists and email targeting options are meeting your needs. Your feedback on formatting is valuable, and we'll strive to enhance the user experience. Thank you for choosing Workshop to improve your audience communication.
