While Whereby handles most of our daily video needs smoothly, several functions fall short for an agency-focused workflow. Recorded design feedback calls can’t be trimmed or tagged directly inside the platform, so our team has to export files and edit with separate programs afterward. The basic subscription also restricts custom branded meeting URLs, making invites look generic when we send them to Ontario’s mid-sized corporate customers. Additionally, breakout room functionality is fairly rudimentary—we’re unable to pre-map designers into fixed groups before internal brainstorming, costing extra minutes rearranging participants once meetings start. Therefore, free planning is quite limited, especially with only 4 attendees and a 30-minute meeting limit. For larger meetings, unlimited recording, branding and team features, we need to move to paid plans. This platform is also very clean in regard to user interface, and its design is intuitive and very reliable. I mainly utilize Whereby Meetings as a collaborative agile space for coordinating budget follow-up meetings with central administration and to review timelines and forecasting adjustments. I wish it had more emoji features, more colorful interfacing, and more interaction. When I do more fun calls, me working in the fashion space, I definitely wanna keep the interaction going.
