UPS Hyper-V Shutdown Monitor is Windows software for managing virtual environments during power outages. It monitors UPS systems via SNMP or NUT protocols, detecting battery activation and initiating controlled shutdowns before depletion. Running as a Windows Service, it ensures protection without user login. The agentless design avoids installation on Hyper-V hosts, using WinRM PowerShell Remoting for streamlined deployment. It supports UPS hardware from vendors like APC, Eaton, and CyberPower through SNMP v1, v2c, v3, and NUT TCP. Upon power loss, the software uses confirmation-based shutdowns to avoid false alarms. Virtual machines can shut down gracefully, suspend to disk, or migrate to healthy hosts, while physical servers receive standard shutdown commands. The Pro edition adds UPS redundancy monitoring, live migration for clusters, and reporting. Integration options include Prometheus, PRTG, and Windows Event Log, with alerts via email, Teams, SMS, webhooks, and SNMP traps.
