Unified DNS Reviews & Product Details

Most MSPs manage DNS across four, five, sometimes six different provider portals, and that's before you hit a registrar that won't give you API access at all. GoDaddy gates it behind a domain count minimum. Network Solutions doesn't offer it. No API access means no automation, which means you're back to logging into a portal by hand for a client that should take thirty seconds. Unified DNS handles both sides of that. Connect your existing providers (Cloudflare, Azure DNS, Namecheap, Porkbun, NameSilo, OpenSRS, Synergy Wholesale, GoDaddy, and Webnames.ca) and manage every zone across every client from a single dashboard. Or move DNS hosting to UDNS Hosted, our own authoritative nameservers, currently in partner preview with MSPs across the US and Canada. Once a domain's DNS is hosted on UDNS, the registrar's API access stops being relevant. Domain registration stays exactly where it is. Only DNS hosting moves. What it does: Multi-Provider Management: Read and write DNS records across 9 connected providers from one interface, plus UDNS Hosted for full authoritative DNS on our own nameservers. A Monitoring Only adapter provides read-only visibility for domains at unsupported registrars via public DNS lookups. Email Security: Dedicated DMARC and SPF management with cross-zone policy deployment and compliance dashboards. DNS Security Assessments cover SPF, DMARC, DKIM, MX validation, DNSSEC, CAA records, and TTL analysis across your entire client base. Automated Backups: Configurable backup schedules in BIND zone file format, with Azure Blob Storage and SharePoint as destinations. Availability validated automatically every 4 hours. Domain Monitoring: Alerts for expiration (at 0, 1, 7, 14, 30, and 60 days), auto-renew status changes, transfer lock changes, WHOIS privacy changes, and registrar changes. PSA Integrations: AutoTask, HaloPSA, Syncro, and SuperOps with bi-directional client sync, ticket creation from alerts, and customizable ticket templates. Documentation Sync: Hudu integration with Magic Dash support, automated DNS zone and domain registration asset creation, and stale mapping cleanup. SuperOps IT documentation sync also supported. Reporting: Six report types (Domain Expiration, Backup Status, Sync Status, Zone Health, DNSSEC Config, Zone Inventory) with PDF, CSV, and Excel export. Scheduled delivery and white-label PDF exports with your organization's branding. Audit Logs: Every DNS change, user action, and system event logged with user attribution, timestamps, IP tracking, and before/after snapshots. Configurable retention from 30 to 730 days. Cloudflare Advanced Features: Firewall rules with expression builder UI, firewall rule templates, zone settings templates, page rules, zone holds, DNSSEC management, and SSL/TLS configuration. Multi-Tenancy and Access Control: Complete client isolation, per-organization secret vaults, role-based access (Owner, Admin, Technician, Billing), and full client lifecycle management. Enterprise Security: TOTP MFA with backup codes, Microsoft Entra ID SSO, login activity tracking, and security alerts.
