What do you like best about Tyler Enterprise Case Manager?

Odyssey has a lot of features that allow you to fully explore a persons criminal history, current case notes and finding, and location. I have yet to have a problem with the program crashing or there being major delays. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Tyler Enterprise Case Manager?

There is a learning curb when first using Odyssey. There's are so many features and buttons that I have no idea what they are there for or how to use them. Our IT person does not know what it is there for or how t use it. The search button could use more detailed features ( such as I can put in a name and a birth date a arrest date , etc. to narrow a person down. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Tyler Enterprise Case Manager?

I wish there was more "out of the box" performance monitoring. I also really dislike that users can't delete extraneous connections if they add them accidentally to a party. Their only recourse is to enter a removed date and reason, which causes integrations issues with our receiving systems. Recommendations to others considering Tyler Enterprise Case Manager:

Don't underestimate what Odyssey can do...think out of the box and ignore field labels when comparing to your existing business processes and systems--instead, evaluate the functionality and assume you will need to make a few changes to your business processes for any new COTS application to fit well with your business. Remember you're not the only city, county, state in the business you're in so it is quite likely that it will work for you since it is working well for so many others. What problems is Tyler Enterprise Case Manager solving and how is that benefiting you?

Superior Court clerk's offices are using Odyssey to enter all case types, parties. Superior Court judges and administrators are using Odyssey to maintain the courts calendars and sessions (most are, but some opted to keep legacy calendar applications). We also have party data synchronized with our legacy party application and case data also "replicates" to our legacy applications. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about Tyler Enterprise Case Manager?

The thing that I like the most about Odyssey is the large amount of functionality and features available in Odyssey. This makes it possible to merge multiple legacy systems into one, making a more streamlined user experience. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Tyler Enterprise Case Manager?

The only thing I dislike about Odyssey Client is that it's a client/server application. The only thing that would make it better is if it were a web based application like the Odyssey Portal. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Tyler Enterprise Case Manager solving and how is that benefiting you?

We are replacing multiple legacy judicial information systems. One that is almost 40 years old. The biggest benefit is merging multiple information systems into one, making it so users only have to log on and use one application. Recommendations to others considering Tyler Enterprise Case Manager:

Put forth a strong effort in business process review and requirements gathering FIRST. Once you have a good understanding of your own processes, you need to work with Tyler to get the best practices of how Odyssey is designed to work. We made some mistakes by shoe-horning processes into Odyssey that weren't how it was designed. Rights and role configuration is extremely flexible, but use caution being too granular; the fewer the better. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Tarrant County, Texas developed an electronic case filing system that has inspired many other offices to pursue paperless systems. I do not know who the vendor is though. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Tyler Enterprise Case Manager solving and how is that benefiting you?

Odyssey is an evolution of previous court case management mainframe software. Before we looked up cases and had basic information such as the name of parties, court dates, and court actions. Now we have a point and click environment where we can also see scanned documents and find related cases with the click of a button. There is time saved. However, the expectation and needs of our office outpace the development schedule for Odyssey. For example, a digital casefile may have multiple files. It is not possible to drag and drop them all at one time into the system. Nor is it possible to store media, such as videos. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Odyssey - Managing case information and documents for the Clerk's Office."

What do you like best about Tyler Enterprise Case Manager?

I like the ability we have to manage case information and share that case information with other agencies.. It replaces a couple systems we had before: a home grown mainframe system and a separate document system.
