"Powerful, Universal MarTech Platform—But Takes Time to Master"
3.5/5
What do you like best about Tealium?

I find it to be very solid platform, offering some of the best in-house tools for use such as the client side TiQ platform, EventStream, AudienceStream, and also the other tools that are being introduced, such as MemoryIQ.

It's pretty universal, which makes it great for clients to use and integrate into their existing MarTech Stack Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Tealium?

I think the thing I least dislike is the complexity of the platform itself. It does require some degree of knowledge in terms of script, and understanding how to unify everything together. So coming from a marketing perspective, it's not as easy to just jump in. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Tealium Became Our Source of Truth for Customer Data and Segmentation"
5/5
What do you like best about Tealium?

Tealium has become our source of truth for customer data - it gives us a single, reliable view of our customers that we use to power segmentation and drive marketing toward our highest value audiences. The ability to identify and activate affinity-based segments across channels has been a game changer for how we think about lifecycle and loyalty marketing. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Tealium?

Like most enterprise CDPs, making changes often requires IT involvement, which can slow down our ability to move quickly as a marketing team. More self-service capability for marketers would go a long way. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"CoTealium is a stable product with a sharp learning curve, and stubborn implementation"
2.5/5
What do you like best about Tealium?

Tealium is a very stable product that provides consistent tagging data to our Snowflake database and Mixpanel BI tool. We have had no outages in the 5 years I have used the product Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Tealium?

Tealium has a fairly complex implementation that requires an in depth understanding of the product and its constituents to update or add on to. There are some ID's which are hard to track as they flow from Telaium to Mixpanel Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Tealium Delivers a Unified Customer View with Real-Time Activation and Strong Privacy Controls"
4.5/5
What do you like best about Tealium?

Unified Customer View – It consolidates data from web, mobile, CRM, and offline sources to create a single, accurate profile of each customer. This reduces data silos and gives marketers and analysts a more complete understanding of customer behavior.

Real-Time Data Activation – Tealium allows you to act on customer data immediately by triggering personalized experiences, offers, or campaigns across multiple platforms. This agility is crucial for modern marketing and customer engagement.

Flexible Integration – With hundreds of pre-built connectors, it integrates smoothly with analytics, advertising, CRM, and marketing automation tools, making it easier to orchestrate data across your tech stack.

Data Governance & Privacy – Tealium has strong compliance features for GDPR, CCPA, and other privacy regulations, which is increasingly important as customer data becomes more regulated.

Tag Management & Event Tracking – Their Tag Management System (TMS) is robust and user-friendly, letting teams deploy and manage tags without heavy reliance on IT, which accelerates digital initiatives. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Tealium?

Complexity for Beginners – For teams new to customer data platforms (CDPs) or tag management, the interface and setup can feel overwhelming. Proper implementation often requires technical expertise or consultant support.

Cost – Tealium can be expensive, especially for smaller businesses. Licensing, implementation, and ongoing management can add up, which may limit accessibility for mid-sized companies.

Customization Requires Technical Knowledge – Advanced workflows, integrations, or custom tagging often need developers or IT support, so non-technical marketers may not be able to fully leverage the platform on their own.

Reporting Limitations – While it’s excellent for real-time data and audience segmentation, its native reporting and analytics are less robust compared to dedicated analytics platforms. Many teams end up pairing Tealium with another tool for reporting. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Powerful Real-Time Data Unification, Challenging Setup"
3.5/5
What do you like best about Tealium?

I really appreciate the real-time unification and activation power with Tealium Customer Data Hub, and it's the number one feature for me. The combination of AudienceStream and EventStream is genuinely strong, allowing me to create and activate sophisticated audiences in real time. This capability is a game-changer for personalization and retargeting effectiveness. I also like the broad connector library, which is a major reason we chose Tealium over other alternatives. AudienceStream and EventStream work together as a powerful one-two punch; EventStream handles data collection and processing, and AudienceStream turns raw data into actionable customer profiles and real-time decisions. EventStream is great for reliable, high-volume data collection and server-side power, collecting events from various sources and then transforming, enriching, and routing them in real time. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Tealium?

This is by far the biggest hurdle. Even with prior experience in tag management and some technical background on the team, getting everything configured correctly took us months. Defining attributes, building rules in AudienceStream, setting up transformations in EventStream, and mapping connectors isn't intuitive if you're not already comfortable with data layers, JSON, and complex logic. New team members still need significant training and hand-holding. It feels more like a developer-oriented platform than a marketer-friendly one in many areas. If your team lacks dedicated technical resources, this can slow adoption dramatically. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Robust Tealium Capabilities with a High Ceiling for What You Can Accomplish"
4/5
What do you like best about Tealium?

The ceiling is so high in terms of Tealium's capabilities. Their tool set is robust. There can be a learning curve as with any software, but once you get the hang of it, there's just so much you can accomplish. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Tealium?

Tealium CDH has a steep learning curve for many. It's not that the tools are unintuitive, rather, there's some degree of abstract reasoning required to fully understand what's happening under the hood. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"The strongest tool for unifying customer data, but it requires a lot of patience!"
4.5/5
What do you like best about Tealium?

What distinguishes the Tealium Customer Data Hub for me is the AudienceStream feature, which enabled us to build 360-degree profiles of our customers in a way we never imagined before. I love how we can send personalized messages or target customers with ads instantly when they take certain actions. Also, the Tealium iQ feature has greatly facilitated our work, as instead of waiting for the programming team to add new tracking code, the marketing team can do it easily and quickly with the click of a button. The speed of execution and independence in managing codes are among the most prominent benefits achieved thanks to this feature. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Tealium?

The platform is not easy for beginners as the user interface is complex and contains multiple technical options, making the learning curve steep at the beginning. We needed several weeks of training to understand how to use the platform correctly. The high cost makes it a significant investment that requires a clear data strategy. The technical documents are sometimes complex and difficult to understand for non-programmers. The preview and testing speed is sometimes slow, and I wish there was a more responsive preview tool. The cost of some advanced add-ons is high, making it difficult for medium-sized companies to fully benefit from the platform. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about Tealium?

Ability to seamlessly create attributes that we can use downstream in our data warehouse (Databricks) for further transformations and analysis. The UI is also really intuitive and easy to navigate. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Tealium?

The cost was hard to get buy in for and the learning curve is high for non-technical people. The documentation could be improved - I found myself asking AI questions a lot that couldn't be answered by Tealium's own documentation. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
