A good tool for me is a practical tool. The easiness of use of Synthesio is different from other tools on the market, anyone with or without experience in social intelligence and social listening can use this tool and its ready-to-use features. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I think the drawback of Synthesio is the interface: you have to click and click and click to activate some features (for example, how to select a period, set it again when you leave the widget, etc). It's not such a disturbing element in itself, it's just that it can make the smallest tasks a bit tedious. Through synthesio we were able to do great social listening about consumer opinions on different topics, synthesio help us to make amazing analysis of these topics and therefore have actionable consumer insights, also it is a very intuitive tool but at the same time super complete, it's a great tool for us, and it has become a fundamental part of the business! The fact that Synthesio has a broad coverages in terms of the social media and web sources, geographies and provides possibility to track data for the past period of time. This is a big plus.

The system of setting queries for the dashboard is extremely complex, especially if we need to cover very broad scope and diversity of the topics we need to track on social media. The dashboard is not user friendly both from functionality and look & feel point of view. Too many features, overcomplicated and not straightforward to find what you need to find. The interface of the dashboard has been changed several times in one year, no proper communication / trainings on the changes. Every time I find by surpise that smth has been changed and I need to learn again how to use it and find info. The new system with Reports - when you need to build each time an individual report, widget by widget is really difficult and time consuming. Analytics should be connected directly with Listening part, so you could do you filtering and look for analytics directly. Instead of you need to build a report, where you need to create every widget, copy paste your query multiple time, adjust time period for every widget etc. If I need to make changes in the report, I have to change again widget by widget, as widgets are not connected between each other in one report. As with any social listening tool, the data universe is not perfect. Sometimes there is a bit of over-promise in terms of the level of sophisticated analysis a lay-person can really do using the self-service, vs what some paid for analytics from Synthesio or Ipsos teams would be able to deliver. Our team has be extremely happy with Synthesio's social listening capabilities. Their query builder makes understanding social sentiment on both broad and niche topics easy. Their wide range of tools always provides our team with important insights. Another important factor is their excellent customer service. Anytime we've needed help their team is there.
