For the same amount of money, you get a longer runway with an engineering team in India compared to Australia. However, setting up an entity in India just to employ a small number of engineers is expensive and feels like overkill. I value SynkPay for seamlessly converting our team in India from contractor agreements to proper employment, handling everything from contracts to payroll and statutory compliance like EPF, ESI, TDS, and gratuity, all correctly and on time. Honestly not much for our situation. If I had to pick something, I'd like a bit more self-serve reporting so I could pull payroll and cost data myself instead of asking though the team always gets it to me quickly. And their focus is India specifically, so as we eventually expand to other regions we'll have to look wider. For India, though, that focus is exactly why it worked. The best part is how simple it is. Every month, salaries go out on the 1st and I don’t have to do anything. We’re an HVAC company with contractors and full-time employees, and some of them are field technicians, so ESI matters a lot for us. It also used to be the area I got wrong most often.

I’d like a bit more self-serve reporting — the ability to pull cost and status data for our team directly, instead of requesting it. It’s minor, especially given the size of the group we run through them, and the team always turns things around quickly, but a little more in-app visibility would be a nice-to-have.
