It didn’t take long to get everything up and running, and once it was in place, it has been very reliable. I also appreciate how straightforward the interface is nothing feels overly complicated or cluttered. Whenever we’ve reached out for support, they’ve been responsive and helpful, and we genuinely value their ongoing assistance. Their commitment to providing top tier service really helps them stand out in the industry. **What do you dislike about StorMagic?** I would have preferred more time to properly test everything before making a decision. We ran into scalability challenges, and performance was limited in high I/O scenarios. Some of the more advanced features also aren’t explained very clearly in the documentation, so it took some extra time to figure them out. **What problems is StorMagic solving and how is that benefiting you?** We were looking for a budget friendly way to run a small virtual environment with high availability. It supports multiple hypervisors, including VMware ESXi and Linux KVM, and it runs on standard hardware. Storemagic met that need very well without requiring heavy infrastructure. We run it with VMware ESXI and manage most of the storage through vCenter, so workflow feels familiar to the team and fits naturally into how we alreday operate. Deployment was straightforward, and the solution is lightweight while still meeting our high availability needs without requiring an expensive SAN. It also intergrates Smoothly with our backup platform, which lets us protect our virtual machines without a lot if extra setup or added complexity. Another benefit is that it runs on standard hardware, so we didn’t have to rethink or replace what we already had in place. Its been stable and has handled our workloads realiably without any issues. **What do you dislike about StorMagic?** The solution doesn’t offer data deduplication, cloud replication, or any built in comparsion features. The documentation is helpful overall, but I’d really like to see more real world examples that walk through common configuration and typical setups, so its easier to follow along. Once everything was set up and visible in the dashboard, it ran smoothly, but the intial learning curve is till a hurdle, and getting through that first stage could definitely be made simpler. **What problems is StorMagic solving and how is that benefiting you?** It gives us shared storage across several servers while still letting us use the tools we’re already comfortable with. After the VSA issue, we had to reach out to support to get everything reactived. Since it works alongside our virtualzation and backup software, we can mange storage, failover, and recovery as part of the same workflow. Also it offers tiering, which is not available for most HCI solutions. **What do you dislike about StorMagic?** Add its solution to other Hypervisors, like Microsoft and VM Essentials **What problems is StorMagic solving and how is that benefiting you?** VMware pricing has been increased with the acquisition, and if customer would like to use the hypervisor server's disk for storage, VSAN license is pricey and included in hogher license bands. It is easy to set up, there are many videos online from the company that show the setup step by step. It has been integrated into our current setup which is basically running with VMware. This has enabled us to free ourselves from the expensive parts of hardware and offer highly reliable, scalable storage which works. It has taken all of this away from me, saving me time switching over to different management dashboards. **What do you dislike about StorMagic?** StorMagic has one downside which is it can be a bit stressful to install initially. There aren’t a lot of details around specific integrations and troubleshooting that the documentation could provide. The software itself is good, but we had a few debates in deployment, primarily due to network settings. Mostly it was about getting the right settings right so there’s no interruption. **What problems is StorMagic solving and how is that benefiting you?** StorMagic has solved our problem of efficient storage management at a low price. However in distributed system across multiple location, we used to face challenges in maintaining consistency setup of storage. As StorMagic, we’ve now onboarded the storage capabilities into one appliance, consolidated resources, made them more reliable, and cut costs. So far, it has made our IT environment more stable and scalable and we don’t have to rely on expensive SAN hardware. ### 23. The prices for support did not increase much, there are no technical issues and the only thing our IT needs to do are - renew the service contract - get updates from time to time (yearly) In the few cases where a contact to customer Support was needed it was always very efficient because we could directly contact a technical employee instead of being in line for longer times. **What do you dislike about StorMagic?** With StorMagic you are still hosting Servers in your own infrastructure and need to take care of the raid below. **What problems is StorMagic solving and how is that benefiting you?** We have two Server rooms / Data Centers and StorMagic is spreading our Data on the Disks included in the Servers so that a Failure of one side is not affecting our data availability.
