We no longer have to mess around trying to format W.I.'s in MS office, print them out and laminate them. We instead can create W.I.'s in a matter of minutes and have them hosted to the operators via tablets immediately on approval. Other features which are real benefits is the CR request, where operators can feedback any issues with the W.I's in real time. The fact that it can also manage all of our skills matrix really makes Starling a winner for any manufacturing company. The best thing is that there are no standalone servers required, no special S/W needs to be installed, as long as you have an internet connection and web browser you can view W.I's anywhere. **What do you dislike about Starling work instructions software?** There is not much to dislike about Starling to be honest. However it would be nice to see some data capture features added for SPC and inspection data, but this is more an improvement than a dislike and I believe the developers are looking into these fetures. **What problems is Starling work instructions software solving and how is that benefiting you?** Starling solves the issue of creating W.I's, what used to be a days worth of work can now be done in an hour. This allows my team to work on other tasks and saves the company time and money. It has also given us confidence that during audits all of our W.I's will be compliant and up to date. This was something that used to worry me when we had paper copies scattered around the shop floor. It is also solving the issue of updating and maintaining skills matrix as this is all managed in Starling. ### 4. Previously, we managed instructions in MS office and editing documents and releasing and archiving was a challenge, now using Starling streamlines this and removes the difficulties and limitations we previously worked with. **What do you dislike about Starling work instructions software?** There is nothing to dislike about the software, but a suggestion for improvement would be to integrate the functionality of inputting in-process data that can be fed back to the dedicated departments/users. **What problems is Starling work instructions software solving and how is that benefiting you?** Previous times for creating instructions was a day's work, but now using Starling means that the time is reduced to an hour. Highlights specific changes on new versions, making version approvals much quicker. Reduced migration friction with the ability to use PDF's from paper system until the new electronic format is created, allowing updates on change. Change requests/error corrections can be requested from the shop floor allowing tracked improvements ensuring no unauthorised/documented changes occur. High quality images available to look at and ability to zoom in for more detail. Use of videos to describe a process. **What do you dislike about Starling work instructions software?** It would be better if it could integrate with our ERP system to access the instructions directly from there. The notifications don't time out if the notification is no longer relevant, but they aren't too intrusive. **Recommendations to others considering Starling work instructions software:** If you are on any paper based system take the leap and give it a try - it has been a step change in ease of access for our works instructions, especially for me - knowing that I am looking at the right version, not a draft that someone has put on the server.
