# How do PSA platforms actually help services teams keep track of project scope, budgets and client hours without things slipping through the cracks?

I'm researching the day-to-day mechanics of not letting a project quietly go over scope or budget, which is where a lot of services teams get burned. I went through professional services automation reviews for how teams describe tracking scope, budgets and client hours in practice. Posing each as the question I had going in.

Scoro - can I see budget burn as it happens? Reviewers describe estimating scope, tracking progress against budget and billing in one system, with dashboards for margins and capacity, though it takes a bit to learn.

Birdview - is the financial picture clear per project? Reviewers point to a business-intelligence view showing the financial viability of each project, plus one place for the team to log time, materials and notes.

Projectworks - does it catch overruns early? Reviewers highlight tracking project spend against budget, a visual timeline that surfaces delays before they hit, and a resource heat map for spotting overload.

Accelo - can scope and billing live together? Reviewers value scope-of-work and quote creation alongside timesheets and billing in a single system, with a real-time read on status and budget.

For the delivery leads here, what's the mechanism that actually saves you: a budget alert, a utilization view, a weekly report? And where do hours still slip through, usually because people log time late, or because scope creep never gets recorded as a change?

Projectworks caught our first budget overrun before it became a client conversation. The visual timeline showing delays before they compound is the thing that actually changed how we manage. Alerts are only useful if someone acts on them and that one made it impossible to ignore.
