SSS DocGen Reviews & Product Details

SSS DocGen is a document generation solution designed for organizations utilizing Microsoft Dataverse, Dynamics 365, and the Power Platform. It enables the creation of branded PDF documents—such as invoices, statements, and engagement letters—directly from Dataverse records. Unlike traditional compiled templating systems, SSS DocGen treats templates as configurable elements rather than compiled code, allowing layout changes to be implemented without necessitating a full code release. The core functionality of SSS DocGen revolves around its use of Handlebars markup and FetchXML datasets. Templates are authored using Handlebars, a logic-less templating language, which allows for dynamic content insertion and formatting. FetchXML is employed to define the data queries that populate these templates, ensuring that the generated documents accurately reflect the underlying Dataverse records. This combination provides flexibility and ease of maintenance, as templates can be updated or modified without extensive development cycles. SSS DocGen operates within the customer's own Azure subscription, ensuring that all data processing occurs within their controlled environment. This architecture enhances data security and compliance, as no customer data is transmitted to external services operated by Simple Smooth Safe. The solution integrates seamlessly with various Microsoft platforms, including model-driven apps, Power Automate, Canvas Apps, and Power Pages, facilitating diverse use cases and workflows. Key features of SSS DocGen include: - **Template Configuration**: Templates are stored as configuration data within Dataverse, allowing for straightforward updates and version control without the need for code compilation. - **Flexible Data Integration**: Utilizing FetchXML, SSS DocGen can pull data from multiple related entities within Dataverse, enabling the generation of complex documents that aggregate information from various sources. - **Scalability and Performance**: Running as a containerized application in the customer's Azure environment, SSS DocGen can scale to meet varying document generation demands while maintaining performance. - **Security and Compliance**: By operating entirely within the customer's tenant, SSS DocGen adheres to existing security policies and compliance requirements, with no data leaving the organization's control. - **Support and Maintenance**: The subscription includes monitoring, patching, and compatibility maintenance for Chromium and Dataverse APIs, ensuring the solution remains up-to-date and reliable. SSS DocGen is particularly beneficial for organizations that require frequent updates to their document templates. Traditional compiled templating systems often involve lengthy development cycles and significant costs for each change. In contrast, SSS DocGen's configuration-based approach allows for rapid template modifications, reducing both time and expense. For instance, a case study highlighted a multi-office professional services firm that transitioned from a compiled templating system to SSS DocGen, resulting in a reduction of annual document change costs from €28,500 to €9,000, while also decreasing change turnaround time from weeks to days. In summary, SSS DocGen offers a robust and flexible solution for generating branded PDF documents from Dataverse records. Its configuration-driven approach, seamless integration with Microsoft platforms, and operation within the customer's own Azure environment make it a compelling choice for organizations seeking efficient and secure document generation capabilities.
