The customer service crew is outstanding, constantly making sure my requirements are met and problems are resolved as soon as possible. Onboarding, lift and shift of existing experience to Squiz was rocky at best. The Implementation team turned over 4 times before we got the product up and running. What problems is Squiz DXP solving and how is that benefiting you?

We needed to replace the Google Search Appliance when Google ended that business. We needed a federated site search for a wide range of properties and domains with some fairly significant differences and sophisticated search features (configured faceting, custom UIs, custom thesaurus/term-mapping, etc.). Getting all of this in a single cloud-based solution has been a tremendous improvement both in back-end/content admin and in the end users' experiences. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about Squiz DXP?

The customer service team is top-notch. They offer great advice and have a solid history with other client projects that allows us to make informed decisions on what we need for our own projects. The site search feature they implemented has improved usability for our site by a mile. Users comment on how much easier our site is to navigate with the new search feature. I personally have found the new site search feature has improved my ability to determine what content should be shown more prominently to our users and what content should be deleted. The faceted SERP results have not been that useful for us. Scoping facets to a given subdomain has proven difficult. A simple request to send us a list of current "subdomains crawled" went unanswered... We finally resolved the matter on our own, Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Recommendations to others considering Squiz DXP:

Do look at Funnelback... But, you might be wise to consider if shared hosting is the best way to go for you. This arrangement has limited some of our control over the software. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about Squiz DXP?

Very simple to get started with the basic features. Indexing was easy to setup, the templating system is familiar, and the Content Auditor is a very useful feature. The documentation is complete and extensive which is a joy for anyone setting this up. There are so many useful features included in Funnelback, and although we're only using a tiny subset right now, having useful and descriptive documentation means that we can explore more options once we have become familiar with the platform. What do you dislike about Squiz DXP?

The admin panel is a little confusing during first use, but I suspect this is just to my (current) unfamiliarity with it. With the number of features Funnelback has, I'm not sure if there is a better way of laying them out. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

We've been migrating a (very!) legacy search system to Funnelback, and so far it has been a painless task. The previous system didn't have any way of analysing results, so Funnelback is a huge improvement here. The difficulty in integrating with other systems. The admin interface needs some work it can be clunky/buggy. Would be useful if it gave hints and tips as you went/during creation of collections etc. Having to do some tasks via the command line. Would to see a useful message explaining why a crawl failed. What do you like best about Squiz DXP?

The Funnelback support team is fast to respond to requests that usually involve pointing us to appropriate customization settings or reporting tools. They have also been very responsive when we need configuration changes (we are in shared cloud hosting) or even in making suggestions for handling requests and answering inquiries that come from our content owners. What do you dislike about Squiz DXP?

What I dislike is more about the shared hosting than the product itself. There are some limitations as to when configuration changes can be made and re-crawls can be done. What problems is Squiz DXP solving and how is that benefiting you?

As part of the implementation of Funnelback we incorporated our social media data and employee directories into the search results. We are able to include our ITS Support and Service Catalog contents in the index via API calls that would otherwise not be available to our enterprise search. "Good high level accessibility tool to see overview of multiple sites / domains"

What do you like best about Squiz DXP?

The tool allows you to see how multiple different websites score on accessibility and easily allows you to see which pages are the worst offenders. You can breakdown each page individually and see the source code of the page so you know exactly where the issue is located. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Squiz DXP?

There is no way to filter out pages that you don't want to see for a specific session. We have some pages that show up in the tool multiple times and they will take up pages and pages with no real way to filter out/ignore pages we don't want to see. Also, sometimes the UI can be quirky especially the side accordion/menu when you're doing a view source of a page and trying to find errors of different types. Recommendations to others considering Squiz DXP:

If you're looking to get a high-level overview of multiple websites / sub domains then this is the right tool for you. We use it to see which domains and pages have egregious violations and start there. We're able to easily identify issues with our template that effect every page on the website. What problems is Squiz DXP solving and how is that benefiting you?

We're solving accessibility issues at MSU University Advancement, we can see which pages are the worst offenders and are able to see a notable improvement in the number of errors we have.
