It is simple, streamlined and perfect for a small business help desk. I can set up my agents, ticket notifications and start receiving tickets in minutes, and it is easy to use.

**What do you dislike about Spiceworks Cloud Help Desk?**

Not too much functionality, which is fine considering the price point. As more updates come out for it that, it gets clunkier. Adding a comment to a ticket or updating a ticket sometimes does not work, and I have to refresh the website to be able to edit the ticket. Otherwise, it just hangs or never adds to the ticket.

**What problems is Spiceworks Cloud Help Desk solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It allows for one place where all employees can submit technical issues for our support staff to solve. It beats email and is something we adopted to learn and grow from.

The UI is very intuitive and is very easy to pick up and start using, even if you dont have alot of experience with helpdesk apps

The one thing that I didnt like is the mytickets functionality did not make it easy to look at all tickets at once regardless of status

Make sure that you really review requirements so that you dont have alot of rework to do with implementation, but the app is customizable and works great!

We use Spiceworks as our sole ticket based support system for our internal customers.  Anytime a relevant issue comes up, the user just goes to the site and in a few seconds can build a ticket complete with screeshots and detail that helps us in IT to resolve issues quickly

We were searching for a cloud help desk that would let the administrators for multiple entities see in one platform. This allowed us to accomplish this by setting up two helpdesks for our entities, but allowing the helpdesks to be different.

**What do you dislike about Spiceworks Cloud Help Desk?**

The cloud helpdesk requires the user to enter their email, then click on a link on their email every time they submit a new ticket. The only way to connect it is through an active directory. So there is no SSO or LDAP capabilities for login.

**What problems is Spiceworks Cloud Help Desk solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We have been able to timely resolve tickets for both of our entities. It helped because we are no longer scanning multiple help desk sites. Staff is happier on the tech repairs because they are resolved quicker.

It integrates with SSO's and the users can instantly start sending tickets. The control and management of tickets are easy and intuitive. Central admin users can create graphs and ticket logs. It included remote control support, making it easy to manage the user's computer if demanded. This software is handy when you have many users in your company. It helps a lot when attendance is needed as soon as possible.

The search engine can be hard to set the filters. The initial configuration is time-consuming. Even  If you decide to host your server yourself, starting from scratch can take more time.

End Users are able to open up a help desk ticket by simply sending an email to our specific portal. The ticket gets routed to the Admin Console Portal and can be accepted, assigned fully worked updated, closed, and reopened. Simple and very effective.

**What do you dislike about Spiceworks Cloud Help Desk?**

I'm not sure if it's the browser that I am using or not, but I find that if you leave the portal open for over 10 minutes and you type in the comments field you cannot save it and it just hangs. Then you need to copy your text refresh the web page and then paste the comment back in and it works perfectly until it times out again without warning.

Hardware issues. Software issues. End-user account issues. New hardware requests. Updating Group email lists. Attending to new hires and cancelling staff who have resigned. It is a robust IT helpdesk application.

Powerful rules to sort and organize tickets.
Also has good asset management that can be linked to both users and tickets.

It seems to lack sufficient testing before being launched. It doesn't work well in some modern browsers and while not quite often, far too often for a premium product, it doesn't save changes you make causing a loss of data entered and work must repeated.

Full featured product worth considering especially if you're in a large organization.

What I like about Spiceworks, is that for the budding IT company, it's a low cost solution.  The fact that it's cloud based, with a large user forum, that literally spans the planet, is very nice.  I can get help and feedback on issues I run into from different perspectives.  I love the way you can configure email addresses to create ticket automatically.

Sometimes, of late, they have had some serious issues with their data centers.  Just a couple of months ago, we were without a helpdesk for an entire day.

Benefits are we have organization, as well as a historical record.  Many times we run into problems that are reoccurring.  Having a ticket history we can quickly go back to those solutions and implement them fast.  Also, it saves us from having a massive email account with unreadable information.

I love the on premiss version, but they are end-of-life it. The ticket system is excellent, and being able to create a new ticket from email. Spiceworks stopped using the mobile app, which sucks, and now only offer a cloud solution that we can't even migrate into with our email addresses since they have already been used in the on-prem version!

I love that you can easily be switched from an unassigned ticket to your ticket and query and create a report quickly. I also love the Spiceworks community and available free webinars.

I wish Spiceworks would have a clickable history for theticket. For instance, an escalation monitoring, wherein you can see the number of times the ticket has been re-assigned, and changes of the priority.

Spiceworks shows a header for each ticket for a quick glance to see topic, submitter, priority, and date which makes it easy to identify tickets which may belong to you.

There's no way to format text to call attention to specific things within a response. The ability to highlight, bold, or underline text would help make responses more clear.

You can customize Spiceworks to work for you including adding different teams to which tickets can be assigned and email notifications when tickets are received so work can easily be delegated appropriately.

I've always enjoyed using Spiceworks Help Desk, the web-based program was very easy to understand and use. the Community for support is superb as well with any questions I've had.

I didn't really find much I did not like about Spiceworks Help Desk, the only limitations i came across were do to my companies securities policies not letting me get a full network scan run.

Keeping track of inventory is a major incentive, being able to see what model and windows versions each machine is running and pushing updates as needed.

Most of the features we didn't use but Zoho based intelligent assistance help our service-based customer in many ways at any time. Our customer belongs to the education industry where we face challenges in reaching them through technical and help and at that time. This tool helps us a lot.

We haven't found anything not related to below our bar but the ZIA feature we use and it was really Amazing.

It's easy to use because before this tool our team has been tried almost every helpdesk but couldn't find any useful. We have used ZIA that is Zoho intelligence assistance. We already used Zoho for CRM and it also helps us in this system.

This application was extremely easy to use and set up.  I especially like using the reports.  The software listing per machine has been extremely helpful.

I wish that when you uninstalled an application from a machine, it did not still appear in the Spiceworks programs list as if it were still on the device.

Easy setup of the Spiceworks server side software. The software is stable (minus the odd zombie process). Being able to monitor my servers and network in real time is a game changer! Having the Spiceworks user community is priceless and really helpful. Almost always there is a Spiceworks user out there with a great answer to some pretty highly technical and obscure questions.

**What do you dislike about Spiceworks Cloud Help Desk?**

The Spiceworks server software can sometimes stop responding on the server and require a software restart, which can be done remotely or at the server terminal very easily. I have had the experience that sometimes tracking a ticket can be a little difficult in a high volume environment. The setup and actual using of the software package and web interface documentation could use a more multimedia approach. Perhaps a Youtube channel with tutorials would help.

Absolutely the first stop when you are trying to solve having helpdesk software or server and network monitoring or both!

A fairly elegant solution to solve my need for a server and network monitoring tool with real time telemetry. I needed a  competitive, fully functioning Helpdesk ticketing system with persistent tracking. Making my team members more effective and reducing user incident response times. Allowing management to hold technicians accountable.

First of all there are two options, first, on prem, second, cloud based. I used the on prem years ago and it was a solid product, even though it was free. Once the Cloud Helpdesk came out, it became the GO TO application for day to day operations ..... the words are 'please submit a ticket' ... accessible from ANY device that is connected to the internet for both techs and end users.

Not much at all if anything, it's our go to no matter what.

Inconsistent ways to receive submission of IT issues and zero tracking. The Spiceworks Help Desk (Cloud) make it a lot easier, we can see who has what to do, assign to both internal and external technicians if needed, run simple and advanced reporting for management and keep on top of issues.

I like that the Spiceworks Help Desk is super easy to use and fairly easy to implement and roll out to users.  It has a reasonable amount of features at a good price ($0).

I dislike that there can be difficulty integrating it with Active Directory or other services.  It can be difficult to manage at times and to get reports out when needed.

I would suggest looking at the Spiceworks Help Desk for any IT pro looking for simple software to help track and manage your network.  This platform is a great price and will help you stay on top of your to-do list with ease and can even provide notes and feedback to your end-users.

It's a very good helpdesk platform, if you have a small team Spiceworks gives you the oportunity to put all de tickets in order, by the option "Assigned", with this you can distribute the tickets sorting by the memebers of the team, and following their data.

I can concentrate in a  one place all the request of my one hundred users in a same place, and take a overview of all of them.

**What do you like best about Spiceworks Cloud Help Desk?**

100% free! Very easy to setup; users can easily put in requests; host on our own server; runs smoothly and requires little maintenance once it is setup. Lots of add-ons available to make it more custom. Having  Spiceworks self-hosted saves us a lot of our budget each year that we can use to purchase new equipment and software. Forums are a great resource for figuring out how to install and customize. We also use the Inventory to keep track of our PCs and notify of issues. We have setup our printers to create a ticket whenever the toner is low or waste toner is getting full, making routine maintenance and purchasing consumables much easier. Also includes reports, which is very helpful to upper management.

Ads are a bit annoying and the user interface could be more customizable. Everything else works great.

It is free, powerful, customizable, easy to monitor, easy for end-users to navigate, and stable. There is a great support team and community. Email notifications are great, especially for emergency situations.

Spiceworks is extremely suitable since it facilitates a set of alternatives in the networks and predicts the greatest workload with many functions that are fully integrated and very useful to use. On the other hand it allows me to classify entries apart from providing excellent learning tools. Even it is extremely easy to implement for the current state of the network. I can also collect accuracy and speed information.

I would like to have room to improve the area in Windows systems. I would also like this tool to be installed on other types of systems such as Linux, Aplee Mac and not necessarily Windows.

Having the ability to organize, delegate, and track trouble issues has given us a better and clearer picture of what issues were happening within our organziation, and made it possible to address the issues in a way that actually cleared them up, rather than chasing symptoms all day every day.

**What do you like best about Spiceworks Cloud Help Desk?**

There are so many features available in the Spiceworks Help Desk system, and there are many new plugins that are being developed to add on to the current functionality. This system allowed us to take the Help Desk email that people were already emailing their requests to, and create requests automatically from there. This has allowed a 100% seamless transition for the staff/faculty to still contact us with their issues, and still allow us to manage the tickets. This has been a game changer for our department in allowing us to not let issues "fall through the cracks."

**What do you dislike about Spiceworks Cloud Help Desk?**

There are a couple things that have yet to be made customizable such as the normal work hours. Whenever a ticket is created, and a due date is assigned, it automatically sets the time at 5PM. I would personally like to be able to specify that our normal business hours are from 7:30AM - 3:30PM, and to have it set the due date to 3:30PM for any date we pick. There is also the ability to track the response time for tickets; however, I don't believe there is a rule in place to only track those during the business hours. So, if users are sending in emails/tickets after hours, then it may show a different response time than desired.

**Recommendations to others considering Spiceworks Cloud Help Desk:**

It is a free Help Desk solution, and at the very least I would try it out. If you do the same thing we did, I added a generic email address to our Help Desk distribution group, and then had any email that went to that generic email create a ticket in the system. This way it wasn't using my personal work email, and creating a new ticket for every single email I got. This allowed us to be up and running very quickly, and offered an immediate benefit to the school as a whole.

We are able to now keep track of all issues that are going on around campus, and not let teachers requests go unnoticed. We are also now able to easily track ongoing issues by being able to report on past issues a certain employee has been having to see if it is something deeper than we initially thought.

The interface is incredibly easy to use and the notification system is perfect for what we need. There is 0% configuration involved in rolling out to users, all they have to do is send an email to create a ticket. The response notifications means they can stay up to date with the ticket progress. And the best part is that it's free!

We recently migrated from on-premise to the cloud version and I have found there are a few features missing (nothing critical). I have also noticed a few bugs but they tend to get resolved fairly rapidly.

There are a lot of help desk tools out there but a lot of them cost money - Spiceworks doesn't, which is what makes it such a cost-effective tool.

I have only ever user Spiceworks Help desk to manage requests from users. I can imagine doing this through email would be a nightmare. Users barely have to lift a finger to raise a support call. I expect I have saved a lot of time on both sides from using this tool!

Spiceworks Help Desk is very easy to setup and easy to use.  It's great for small to mid-sized businesses and would probably work just fine for larger businesses also.  I love how it ties into my Spiceworks Inventory and that tickets can be generated by a user sending an email to the "helpdesk" email address I've created for it.

There's not much of anything I dislike, except dealing with the tickets themselves.  The Helpdesk is easy to use and powerful, so I don't have any complaints about it.

We used Spiceworks at an onsite for a while. It was great for the basics, had an easy  to understand format, and input tickets very well.

It didn't do a great job in updating users when their computer was ready for pick up. It was also limited in what we could pick for ticket title lines, subjects, and it was hard to attach documents.

A powerful help desk system with tons of features and customization, whether it's built-in or community provided. You can build as you like to fit your needs. It is easy to use and integrates well with Active Directory for user accounts and single-sign-on. The user portal is great as well and can be linked to a public facing web page.

There's not much to dislike about Spiceworks since you can customize it however you want. The only thing is if you use the inventory side of it, it might be a bit slower if you have a huge network (1000+ devices)

Go for it. The community is huge and there's a ton of customization options that you can apply to fit your needs.

One issue we were facing is the ability to track consumables like toner and relate them to ticket. Not many (or any) other help desk systems offer this. While Spiceworks does not have this function built-in, the huge community already came up with ways to get around this and get it working.

Spice works has been the best free product I have came across since the beginning of my entire career. What Spice works has done with our problem and requesting handling is unreal.

There has yet to be anything I dislike about this product. Being that it's completely free for the self hosted version you will be hard pressed to find a real deal breaking issues.

Spiceworks is easy to use and setup, our T1 and T2 helpdesk support team had a very short learning curve when we moved from Freshdesk to Spiceworks Help Desk. The level of customization that Spiceworks has is insane. What makes this more crazy is that it is a free product.

Nothing, we like every single thing this far and have been using it almost a year. We use the self hosted version.

A request is sent to an email address I created on our domain and a ticket is created and the end user as well as several staff members are notified. Also, It is free!

There is really nothing that I do not like about this product.  Support is good for a free product.
