Policies can also be created from the product's logs, pre-filling the majority of the policy. Service account visibility is very good and creating policies around those service accounts is easy. The new privileged access security feature is good and provides options like virtual fencing and just in time access. **What do you dislike about Silverfort?** I have a hard time coming up with many issues with the product itself, there are some nit-picky things like if you want to upgrade to a newer version, you must get approval from support or your account manager, then they allow that update to push down to your appliances. There were some issues with virtual nodes in past versions, but support was quick to gather logs, implement a work around, then provide a patch that resolved the issue all in a timely manner. **What problems is Silverfort solving and how is that benefiting you?** Enhance decision making Create internal/operational efficiencies Drive innovation Improve compliance & risk management ### 2. Awesome MFA Solution **Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars **Reviewed by:** Verified User in Hospital & Health Care | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.) **Reviewed Date:** May 24, 2023 **What do you like best about Silverfort?** It helps us actually protect our internal environment with MFA and not just interactive logins, but PSExec, PS and more as opposed to solutions like DUO that only can protect interactive logins and require to be installed on every workstation to be protected. It's great we can utilize our existing Azure MFA setup we have in place and not require users to download and configure yet another MFA app. And the fact we only have to install on our DC and not every workstation is amazing. Overall it's been a great purchase and are looking forward to them hopefully continuing to develop and refine things. **What do you dislike about Silverfort?** The dashboard and interface look great, but while it has good looks, there really isn't any actual functionality behind it. Trying to investigate threats or incidents results in clicking yourself in a circle trying to find any relevant information on said specific threat/incident. They have the ability to filter, but it would be nice for them to take you right to the pieces of the log when you clicked. The workflows on the interface could also be more efficient; there is a lot of good information presented, but you can't click on it to be taken to more information or even take action to mark something as a "false positive", so to speak. You have to go to a completely different page and find that account and mark it there. They could also be a little more descript in their flagging of events. We have had users get flagged as HIGH or CRITICAL risk but only have a single "Abnormal Authentication" risk indicator. What does that mean, and why did they jump to critical? It would be nice to know that information so we can work to educate or remediate if it's a behavior we can adjust with the user or a configuration change we need to make. Finally, the PoC and implementation weren't the greatest, I think we had a new guy, but we ended up having some issues that ended up being a software bug that required an update. **What problems is Silverfort solving and how is that benefiting you?** Being able to protect our servers and privileged accounts with MFA not only for interactive logins but CMD, PS, PSExec and more without having to deploy an agent to every single server/workstation. ### 3. The service is intuitive and easy to use - any queries we have had had have been quickly answered by the team! **What problems is Silverfort solving and how is that benefiting you?** Silverfort provides MFA when accessing systems, such as via Remote Desktop, which was our first requirement. Reached out to them to have a demo and eventually purchased the solution. After purchasing Silverfort has helped us through every step of the way from implementation, support, and upgrades. We can reach out to them any time we have issues, any time we have questions they are on top of it. I look forward to future enhancements they release. This product no doubt makes us more secure than we were ever before. **What do you dislike about Silverfort?** I wish the mobile app was a little more modern looking, had an import feature from other MFA applications, and I wish the solution was able to email the IT team upon detecting an anomaly. I also wish they were on DIR so that other Government entities could take advantage of this solution. The pricing is higher than what most would expect. **What problems is Silverfort solving and how is that benefiting you?** They are able to solve the problem of malicious traffic traversing the network. They are also giving us great insight into service accounts as we did not have this ability before. ### 7. This tool is flexible in implementing Multi-Factor Authentication in several different ways. You can set it up for Remote Desktop, VPN, on-site login and more. **What do you dislike about Silverfort?** The App has been updated to relieve the one difficulty we had initially. Previously the app had to be uninstalled from a user's phone if you wanted to remove an account. Now it's possible to do it right from the app. The only challenge we have now is getting our users to let us know when they've purchased a new phone. **What problems is Silverfort solving and how is that benefiting you?** With Silverfort we are now able to easily implement Multi-Factor Authentication in areas we previously did not have a way to do so. Made easy by Silverfort's custom scripting to integrate to a customer landscape. Dashboards are clean and concise. Syslog shipping makes it easy to collect LDAP and KRBGT events across an enterprise for later investigation and/or real time monitoring with a SIEM. Silverfort's turnaround time from new idea to feature is rather impressive. Testing against "Pass the Hash" attacks was thwarted every time. And most man-in-the-middle attacks as well. Two attacks other 2FA solutions fall short on more times than not. **What do you dislike about Silverfort?** If this were to be used on a SOC floor, of some sort, there is a limitation on defining granular permission per Silverfort User. This feature is more geared towards case management and segregation of visibility and to their credit Silverfort never advertised it. Its more of my personal "...like to have...". RADIUS capability is also another nice to have. **Recommendations to others considering Silverfort:** Understand why you or your company are looking for a 2FA solution. Meaning know what type attack your attempting to mitigate. There are many 2FA solutions but, sadly, many that can be circumvented. **What problems is Silverfort solving and how is that benefiting you?** Providing 2FA solutions for customers when it comes to: Client-to-Site VPN connections, ESXi management access, Administrator level sign-on, and SOC analyst sign-on. ### 10. Were able to get basic MFA working for all employees really quick on all our applications. Added advanced adaptive and step-up MFA on a use-case by use-case basis. **What do you dislike about Silverfort?** Why didn't I know of this product sooner..... We had a couple of fixes needed at the beginning, but all is running smoothly. **Recommendations to others considering Silverfort:** A pleasure to work with the folks from Silverfort. The product delivers on it's promise. **What problems is Silverfort solving and how is that benefiting you?** Our main business benefit is locking out the bad guys, making sure whoever uses our systems are who they say they are. But we cannot negatively impact our user's experience. Silverfort is able to act about as seem-less as possible. We are also able to use this one MFA solution for all our applications and systems. ### 11. We can track the usage of weak authentication protocols like NTLM and either restrict it or add MFA to ensure only authorized users are using it 3.
