"Reliable Features That Just Work Year After Year"
4.5/5
What do you like best about Semrush?

It just works and my favorite features haven't changed in years, in a good way. They are reliable. I know them well and they help me get jobs done. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Semrush?

It's a great tool, but I know for most people getting started on doing SEO for themselves or a single site it's quite expensive and overwhelming to learn. Not applicable for our agency, of course.

I also think they have some missed feature parity with other solutions. Our team relies on Keyword Insights AI for example, to group keywords in a list based on SERP results. I know Semrush kind of has that feature, but it's not as strong. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Simple & Effective to Use"
3.5/5
What do you like best about Semrush?

I appreciate how simple the SEMRush interface is to use. There are only a handful of options needed to plugin in order to get a post published. Their support team has helped me with a few minor bugs in the past too. I've used this tool on a 3 posts/week cadance for over a year and only had 1-2 hiccups with posting, probably due to a momentary API glitch. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Semrush?

- Posting longer tweets for a verified profile isn't possible. Perhaps that's an API limitation.

- No video options for CC or cover video when posting those through the social tool Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Powerful SEO Tool with Room for Pricing Improvements"
4.5/5
What do you like best about Semrush?

I use Semrush for keyword research, position tracking, GBP management, and monitoring. It helps me understand what people are searching for and create content based on those keywords. I find it very well organized and clean, easy to use in my opinion, and I like the layout. I also appreciate the automated content suggestion emails and the updates on tracked keywords. The way it ensures citations are streamlined across platforms is a godsend, saving me hours and ensuring accuracy I likely wouldn't achieve manually. The initial setup was very easy for me. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Semrush?

The only qualm I have is price. It's incredibly nickel and dimey. It's by far my favorite tool for SEO, but I think price could be a bit more accessible. I want more features, but it seems like when I want to expand my scope, it's another cost. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Semrush Makes Content Strategy and AEO Tracking Simple"
4.5/5
What do you like best about Semrush?

Semrush is my go-to for content strategy. The Competitor Gap and Keyword Research tools help me find missing and weak keywords so I know exactly what content to create. Domain Overview gives a quick snapshot of any site's performance.

What's stood out recently is the AI Overview tracking. It shows where my site is being cited in AI search results. Helps me build my AEO strategy.

The UI is clean and intuitive. You can start getting productive quickly without needing any training. Performance-wise, the platform is fast and reliable. Reports load quickly even when pulling large datasets, which keeps the workflow smooth.

Support has been solid too. Their knowledge base and tutorials cover most use cases, so you rarely need to raise a ticket. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Semrush?

The biggest drawback is the lack of real-time data. On the Pro plan, keyword ranking updates are weekly, so if my rankings shift after a content update or algorithm change, I won't see it until the next snapshot. For less popular keywords, updates can be as infrequent as once a month. This gets a little frustrating at times.

On the pricing side, Semrush isn't cheap, but the ROI justifies it. The insights I get from competitor research and keyword targeting alone have saved me from wasting budget on content that wouldn't rank. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Straightforward SEO Audits, Amazing Map Rank Tracking, and Fantastic Support"
0/5
What do you like best about Semrush?

Today alone I use two different features in client facing calls that made it that much easier to sell the engagement. The SEO audits are straight forward and easy to highlight things that are hindering client results. It really shows what needs to be fixed.

The Map Rank Tracker is also amazing. I work with clients who get their leads from the map pack or "near me" type searches. Understanding where they are performing well helps us to know where to focus efforts either with building a new location page or optimizing the performance of existing ones.

The support available is also fantastic. Our rep has been nothing but helpful and has even welcomed same day meeting booking when we've had quesetions or issues we needed help with.

We're starting to experiment with connecting agents to the API to speed up our process, but haven't fully built that out yet. Early results are encouraging. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Semrush?

No real downsides yet, though it did take me longer than I would have liked to figure out how to remove pins in the Map Rank Tracker for when you're working with non-square shapes around things like county or state borders. Would be nice if you were able to make things there non-radius based. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Powerful SEO Insights, Minor AI Integration Hiccups"
4.5/5
What do you like best about Semrush?

I love how clearly the information is laid out in Semrush, making it easy to make data-driven decisions for the highest impact. I really appreciate its AI tracking tools and the ability to track keyword ranking performance, run competitive analysis reports, and monitor competitor rankings. The setup process is very easy, taking less than 30 minutes, and I find it seamlessly connects with Claude, helping me build better content marketing strategies. These features have made my long history with Semrush very favorable. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Semrush?

The AI MCP credits have been giving me issues when I try to use them to link Claude and pull Semrush data into Claude Cowork. Things are not explained very well when it comes to the AI MCP credits and how those are used or how to renew them. It's very difficult to use them unless you are the account owner. "Semrush Makes Keyword Research and Client Performance Tracking Effortless"
5/5
What do you like best about Semrush?

As a Content Manager, Semrush makes it easy to find relevant keywords to focus on and look at metrics like search volume and how easy it is to rank for those keywords. It's also helpful when digging into our clients' performance and figuring out what's working and what's not. We also use it daily to see what pages on our clients' sites are ranking, what position they're in, and what keywords they're ranking for. It's easy to understand, easy to navigate, and the added descriptions of what each thing means for those who aren't as familiar make training and explaining to other team members easier. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Semrush?

Overall, there aren't too many complaints about Semrush and how it functions. With a team, we wish it were easier and less costly to add team members to our organization. It would also be nice if Semrush provided a monthly report of suggested pages to optimize for SEO and AI visibility that would benefit a specific website the most. "Semrush: An All-in-One SEO Hub I Rely on Every Day"
4.5/5
What do you like best about Semrush?

I’ve been using Semrush for about two years, and it’s become one of the tools I rely on every day. I use it for keyword research, AI citation audits, backlink audits, and for identifying toxic links that should be disavowed.

The features I use most are Position Tracking and Position Changes. I check them multiple times a day to keep an eye on ranking movement and to quickly spot new opportunities or potential issues.

The UI/UX is clean and easy to navigate. The recent branding and color scheme updates took a bit of time to get used to and can still be confusing at times, but overall the platform feels stable, reliable, and well organized.

What I appreciate most is having so many SEO functions in one place. Rather than jumping between several tools, I can manage research, monitoring, technical checks, and reporting within a single platform, which saves me a lot of time. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Semrush?

One area that could be improved is pricing. Semrush is a powerful platform, but the cost can be difficult for freelancers, small businesses, and newer agencies to justify.

Some of the limits on lower-tier plans can also feel restrictive, especially when working across multiple clients and projects. It would be great to have a bit more flexibility without needing to upgrade immediately.

The recent branding and color scheme updates also took some time to adjust to. While not a major issue, certain reports and dashboards felt more intuitive before the redesign. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"All-in-One SEO Platform with Intuitive UX and Robust Keyword & Backlink Insights"
5/5
What do you like best about Semrush?

Semrush offers an all-in-one platform for SEO and content marketing professionals. Specifically, I like the mostly intuitive UX, organization of features based on key activities (e.g., keyword research, content development, social listening, reputation management), and use of AI to discern insights faster. Additionally, even on a less expensive plan, the robust keyword and backlink data provide enough information to make SEO strategy decisions.

Based on these strengths, I use Semrush almost daily to evaluate my company's website's organic marketing performance, monitor keyword rankings, understand how the SERP is changing in light of AIOs, and what type of third-party backlinks we're earning. Additionally, I've been enjoying Semrush's integrations with outside software, notably the Google marketing suite (GA4 and GSC). These features allow me to make smarter decisions and recommendations for my wider organization than if I weren't using the platform.

Fortunately, because the platform was easy to use and set up initially, I have not had to contact customer support over the past six months. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Semrush?

- Gating of features that are increasingly becoming key to effective SEO, e.g., social listening and reputation management, behind specific plan tiers

- Emphasis on Semrush-created SEO vanity metrics that Google and other search engines have debunked as not contributing to SERP performance, i.e., domain authority, spam scores for sites and links

- Cost of Semrush One versus legacy plans Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Semrush Unifies SEO & PPC Insights for Smarter Keyword and Competitor Research"
5/5
What do you like best about Semrush?

Semrush is one of our go-to tools because it helps us connect SEO and PPC strategy in one place. I like that we can quickly research keywords, monitor competitors, and turn search data into practical next steps without jumping between multiple platforms.

For SEO, we use it to identify keyword opportunities and content gaps that can help inform new page or blog topics. For PPC, it is helpful when we want to compare paid keyword opportunities, understand competitor visibility, and find areas where we may be able to improve campaign efficiency.

The UI is feature-rich but still manageable once you know where to look, and the reporting makes it easy to bring insights back to the team. Overall, Semrush gives us a clearer picture of where we stand in search and where we should focus next. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Semrush?

Because Semrush has so many features, there can be a learning curve for newer users. Some areas of the platform can feel a little dense at first, and it takes time to understand which reports are most useful for your specific goals. Pricing can also be a consideration depending on team size and usage needs, but the value is there when the platform is used regularly. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
