"Unmatched Data Speed"
4.5/5
What do you like best about Semrush?

The biggest thing I like about Semrush is its ability to generate data so fast. Doing it by hand would take so many hours, but now I just rely on this technology to find new things. So far it's been unmatched, no other software can synthesize so much data. There are so many places to look like Google Analytics and Google Search Console, and you'd have to do analysis with your own hands one by one, so Semrush is a big thing for me. I use it as my third analytical tool that kind of closes the loop. I use Claude with MCP and Semrush, which lets me monitor things much easier. Semrush is that little cap I need to fill to make sure things are connecting. Its reputation played a big part in our decision since so many companies use it, and it has the ability to cater to enterprise level companies, which we were looking for. We wanted something holistic that could analyze our whole web and make sure we're in line with other industry websites where we operate. The initial setup was quite straightforward, I just used any of their products, typed in my domain, and it got all the data. It was quite simple, and I can also do competitor analysis. The UI is pretty classic, not some new white coat look, so it's kind of easy to navigate because you've seen things like that before. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Semrush?

I find the Semrush apps marketplace a bit underwhelming. There are many tools, but they are spread across different subscriptions., It's hard to keep track of everything., If you wanna get AI rankings, you have to buy different subscription. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"All-in-One SEO Powerhouse"
5/5
What do you like best about Semrush?

What I value most about Semrush is that it brings keyword research, competitor analysis, and site health checks together in one place, so I’m not constantly juggling separate tools. The Keyword Magic Tool makes it quick to uncover low-competition terms that still have real search volume, and Position Tracking lets me monitor ranking changes day by day without having to check everything manually. The Site Audit has flagged technical issues I likely would have missed otherwise, and being able to pull a competitor’s top pages and backlink profile in just a couple of clicks has influenced a lot of my content strategy. One unexpected upside is how much time it saves on client reporting, since the data is straightforward to export and easy to explain. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Semrush?

Honestly there's very little to dislike. Pricing is the one thing to be aware of the entry plan is built for a single user, so as our needs grew we moved up a tier, but the added capabilities made it well worth it. There's a bit of a learning curve at first simply because the platform is so feature-rich, though once you get oriented everything is right where you'd expect. I treat the keyword volume and difficulty figures as strong directional guidance and cross-check against Search Console, which works great for my workflow. Even exporting large reports is manageable. If I had one small wish it'd be a mid-tier plan option and clearer in-app limit indicators, but these are minor next to how much value the tool delivers. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Very Disappointing Customer Service and Billing Experience"

What do you like best about Semrush?

The app itself may be useful, but it’s very expensive. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Semrush?

I signed up for Semrush's free trial to evaluate whether the platform would be suitable for my business. After testing the service, I determined that it was not the right fit for our requirements and budget.

The trial automatically converted into a paid subscription, resulting in a USD 199 charge. Within approximately 30 minutes of the payment being processed, I contacted support, requested a refund, and immediately canceled the subscription. The account was not used for any meaningful activity after the charge other than logging in to cancel the subscription and submit the refund request.

Despite explaining the situation, including the fact that we are a small business and that the service would not be used, Semrush refused to provide a refund. I submitted multiple requests, including a goodwill appeal, and the matter was escalated internally. After review, Semrush confirmed that they would not refund the payment and would not reopen the case.

My disappointment is not that a refund policy exists. It is that there appears to be no flexibility whatsoever, even when a customer requests a refund almost immediately after being charged, cancels the service right away, and receives no meaningful benefit from the paid subscription.

Potential customers should be extremely careful when signing up for a trial. Set multiple reminders and cancel well before the trial expires if you are unsure. Based on my experience, immediate cancellation and an immediate refund request were not sufficient for Semrush to make an exception.

This experience has left me disappointed with both the company's customer service and its approach to handling genuine billing disputes. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"One Stop Solution for SEO, Website Audit, and Competitor Analysis"
5/5
What do you like best about Semrush?

What I like most about Semrush is that it brings almost everything I need for SEO and content marketing into one place. I can do keyword research, check competitor websites, track rankings, run site audits, and find content ideas without switching between different tools.

The keyword research features are especially helpful because they give me a clear idea of what people are searching for and how difficult it may be to rank for those keywords. I also like the site audit tool because it helps me quickly find technical SEO issues that could affect website performance. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Semrush?

The pricing is good for big agencies. But for small businesses and freelance users, it is a bit expensive. Some advanced features are only available in higher-tier plans, which everyone can't afford.

I think Semrush could improve its pricing model by making all features available across all plans and limiting usage through credits or tokens instead. This would allow all types of users to access the same tools while choosing a plan based on their usage needs. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Comprehensive SEO Insights in One Platform"
5/5
What do you like best about Semrush?

What I like most about Semrush is how comprehensive the platform is. It gives us everything we need in one place, from keyword research and competitor analysis to site audits and content optimization. The insights are easy to understand and help us make more informed marketing decisions. It's also a great tool for identifying new opportunities to improve our SEO performance and online visibility. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Semrush?

There isn't much to dislike about Semrush. If I had to mention one thing, it would be that some of the advanced features require time to learn and fully leverage. However, the depth of insights and capabilities more than make up for the initial learning curve. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"All-in-One SEO Dashboard with Seamless GA4 & Search Console Integration"
5/5
What do you like best about Semrush?

I like that it integrates with Google Analytics 4 and Google Search Console, giving me a comprehensive dashboard based on real data. I also connected Claude.ai with Semrush so I can work with the data more easily.

As an SEO manager, I really appreciate being able to track my website’s performance in one place, without having to rely on clunky, DIY integrations across different tools and platforms.

The UI for some modules is very intuitive and you can quickly download robust reports. Overall, there are lots of modules I want to explore, as they keep adding ways to visualize your information and track new metrics.

As for pricing, the Guru plan gives you plenty of space to track multiple locations and devices for one website. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Semrush?

My least favorite thing about Semrush is how confusing the pricing is. I never feel sure which capabilities I actually have access to, because there always seems to be another tool I need to pay extra to use. I’m on the Semrush One plan and, somehow, I still don’t have access to some AI analytics tools.

I also wish the onboarding were better and more thorough. There are hundreds of tools and capabilities, and many of them are buried behind several clicks. Once you finally figure out where they are and how to use them, they really do make your life easier. I just wish they were easier to find and simpler to integrate into my daily workflow.

Finally, I wish there were a built-in AI tool that I could ask questions to, so I could find my way around the platform more easily and get instant access to specific metrics. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Reliable Features That Just Work Year After Year"
4.5/5
What do you like best about Semrush?

It just works and my favorite features haven't changed in years, in a good way. They are reliable. I know them well and they help me get jobs done. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Semrush?

It's a great tool, but I know for most people getting started on doing SEO for themselves or a single site it's quite expensive and overwhelming to learn. Not applicable for our agency, of course.

I also think they have some missed feature parity with other solutions. Our team relies on Keyword Insights AI for example, to group keywords in a list based on SERP results. I know Semrush kind of has that feature, but it's not as strong. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Simple & Effective to Use"
3.5/5
What do you like best about Semrush?

I appreciate how simple the SEMRush interface is to use. There are only a handful of options needed to plugin in order to get a post published. Their support team has helped me with a few minor bugs in the past too. I've used this tool on a 3 posts/week cadance for over a year and only had 1-2 hiccups with posting, probably due to a momentary API glitch. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Semrush?

- Posting longer tweets for a verified profile isn't possible. Perhaps that's an API limitation.

- No video options for CC or cover video when posting those through the social tool Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Powerful SEO Tool with Room for Pricing Improvements"
4.5/5
What do you like best about Semrush?

I use Semrush for keyword research, position tracking, GBP management, and monitoring. It helps me understand what people are searching for and create content based on those keywords. I find it very well organized and clean, easy to use in my opinion, and I like the layout. I also appreciate the automated content suggestion emails and the updates on tracked keywords. The way it ensures citations are streamlined across platforms is a godsend, saving me hours and ensuring accuracy I likely wouldn't achieve manually. The initial setup was very easy for me. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Semrush?

The only qualm I have is price. It's incredibly nickel and dimey. It's by far my favorite tool for SEO, but I think price could be a bit more accessible. I want more features, but it seems like when I want to expand my scope, it's another cost. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Semrush Makes Content Strategy and AEO Tracking Simple"
4.5/5
What do you like best about Semrush?

Semrush is my go-to for content strategy. The Competitor Gap and Keyword Research tools help me find missing and weak keywords so I know exactly what content to create. Domain Overview gives a quick snapshot of any site's performance.

What's stood out recently is the AI Overview tracking. It shows where my site is being cited in AI search results. Helps me build my AEO strategy.

The UI is clean and intuitive. You can start getting productive quickly without needing any training. Performance-wise, the platform is fast and reliable. Reports load quickly even when pulling large datasets, which keeps the workflow smooth.

Support has been solid too. Their knowledge base and tutorials cover most use cases, so you rarely need to raise a ticket. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Semrush?

The biggest drawback is the lack of real-time data. On the Pro plan, keyword ranking updates are weekly, so if my rankings shift after a content update or algorithm change, I won't see it until the next snapshot. For less popular keywords, updates can be as infrequent as once a month. This gets a little frustrating at times.

On the pricing side, Semrush isn't cheap, but the ROI justifies it. The insights I get from competitor research and keyword targeting alone have saved me from wasting budget on content that wouldn't rank. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
