Currently, we need to take notes of the changes and replicate when we have tested and are ready. If something like this is not easy to implement, at least SearchStax could have revisions so we can check what was done without manually taking notes. Additionally, the performance needs to improve. From Drupal to the API it can take up to 5 minutes to display the new node which can be frustrating and also slow down development. Having more flexibility to define the result cards would be better too. They handle spinning up and configuring the resources, setting up Solr Cloud, and backing up the data, so all we really need to focus on is security and credentials. Thanks to SearchStax, we no longer have to maintain our own Solr services. On top of that, integrating our web apps with SearchStax Managed Solr has been straightforward and easy. We’ve also found their Customer Service to be quite responsive. **What do you dislike about SearchStax?** The backup process does consume disk space, and that counts toward the resources included in the plan. It would be great if backups were excluded from the disk space allocated as part of the plan, or at least handled separately. I contacted them for a Solr integration quote for an AEM RFP, and even though we didn’t end up moving forward due to the bid outcome, I’d still recommend them. SearchStax provides a noticeable upgrade over other default CMS search tools, allowing for more relevant, accurate, and user friendly results. **What do you dislike about SearchStax?** The UI for backend configuration and analytics aren't always intuitive. While the tool offers great flexibility, it can take time to understand how to fully leverage features like relevance tuning or custom ranking logic. **What problems is SearchStax solving and how is that benefiting you?** I would say the search capabilities and overall support have also made a real difference. Students searching for “dorms” can be directed to “Residential Life,” and results for majors or faculty are more logically grouped. This helps create a smoother and more intuitive experience for users. ### 48. Additionally, SearchStax achieves every line item on the list of goals we had for a search tool. **What do you dislike about SearchStax?** Downside is that it's another third party product that requires developer integration. **What problems is SearchStax solving and how is that benefiting you?** Native search in our CMS was not as advanced enough for site search and a people directory search on our site at the time of launch in fall of 2022 ### 49. They are pro customer in most cases and go out of their way to do what is needed. **What do you dislike about SearchStax?** The pricing should be looked at, more tier and flexibility to choose for customers. I understand the challenges but steep price increases annually is not good for customers. **What problems is SearchStax solving and how is that benefiting you?** Searchstax is used as search for websites, managed by searchstax team. With less effort spent for managing & hosting search , development team can focus on other features and functionalities. Not only do you need expertise in SOLR but also server management and security.
