Managing printers and scanners is no longer a task. This upgrade has been a game-changer for us, especially when streamlining our onboarding printer assignment workflows. It’s tackled many of the headaches we dealt with in the older, unsupported product Simply Printing version. Honestly, it’s improved things in ways I didn’t even realize we needed! The new UI is super user-friendly, everything runs more efficiently, and we’ve noticed a huge drop in printer downtime and zero user missing printer issues that plagued us previously. Our daily operations are so much smoother now, and everyone on our team is raving about it. Hats off to the ScrewDrivers team for putting so much thought and creativity into Version 7! On top of the awesome product, I can’t say enough about the incredible support we got during the switch. Onai, our salesperson, was just fantastic to work with. She’s professional and took the time to dig into how we used ScrewDrivers in our environment. Her enthusiasm was contagious, and she made my decision to invest in the upgrade a no-brainer. Onai listened to our specific challenges with the outdated Simply Print version, answered all my questions clearly, and made sure I felt good about every step of the upgrade process. She treated us like true partners, not just another sale, which meant a lot to me. Then there’s Nikolay, who provided direct tech support – I’m honestly so grateful for his help. After the update, he made sure everything went off without a hitch. His know-how and patience stood out as he guided me through setting things up and sorted out a few small glitches with activating the new print server. What really impressed me was his dedication – even jumping in remotely to help me on his day off! Because of him, we had almost no downtime during the project and were back up and into production in no time. You could tell he genuinely cares about making sure we succeed. All in all, the ScrewDrivers V7 update has gone way beyond what I expected the benefit of the upgrade would bring, and having Onai and Nikolay in our corner made the whole experience even better. Screwdriver is just ONE driver on your RDS-host. Install, setup and forget. Almost every printer out there will work automatically. When you find one that does not work the support will help you quickly via mail. **What do you dislike about ScrewDrivers?** Still some printers wont work but that is a small problem. The licens do not renew automatically so keep an eye on expiration date. **What problems is ScrewDrivers solving and how is that benefiting you?** No need to install printer drivers for all the printers used by our customers on 15+ RDS servers. As a hosting provider for an application you can not demand all users to just use one or two printer models. We would probably need to maintain 200+ printer drivers without Screwdriver. We provide Citrix based cloud applications, and printing items that require specific registration (labels, checks, etc) has often been a struggle. 100% of the time, we have been able to deploy Screwdrivers into the Citrix solutions, and resolve these issues immediately and completely. Screwdrivers really is a fantastic solution for you if you are utilizing a Citrix environment. The best part is it also makes ANY printing easier and better. **What do you dislike about ScrewDrivers?** The only downside is that if there is an issue with the Citrix WOrkspace application, you generally should reinstall the Citrix Workspace AND Screwdrivers. This isn't a major issue because you may need to install WOrkspace already, and Screwdrivers is not a very large install, so the additional time to install is minimal. **What problems is ScrewDrivers solving and how is that benefiting you?** It *greatly* reduces support calls regarding printing from our applications across the board. The savings from lost time in support far outweigh the per user cost of Screwdrivers in our customer environments. ### 17. The software removes the need for testing or mapping printer drivers as most drivers will work out of the box. The different product versions gives you a range of features that covers almost any setup you could ever need. Once you understand the components the installation is very easy, most installations take less than 1 hour to setup. You can preconfigure all settings for your users or use self service for the users to manage their own printers. The latest additions or printer profiles as well as the advanced print features for print server printers will allow use for any feature that your printer supports without loading any driver on your session host. Initially saw the demo at Citrix, and was more impressed than I had thought. Pre-Pandemic we were able to have peoples at home printers working on our virutal desktops with ease. This makes a sysadmins life much easier! **What do you dislike about ScrewDrivers?** So far in our use-case I have not been dissapointed. ScrewDrivers has held its own and performed its duties as we have requested without issue. At home printer connections are a breeze. **What problems is ScrewDrivers solving and how is that benefiting you?** We purchased initially to test at Work From Home printers being connected. When the pandemic struck, we were in a very good place to easily allow at home users to connect their own printers and still operate as usual. ### 24. They’ve supported us since the product trail version until we decided to purchase the product. The product itself is easy to use and very reliable. The support team response within reasonable time when a ticket has been initiated. Maybe optimize search to find the tool to download. **Recommendations to others considering ScrewDrivers:** My advise is As mentioned hard to find online as the name is common specially in NZ :). Cloud printer drivers is the future as more and more VMs spring up and hot desking is the way to go. Virtual environment is hard to setup and then having on premise printer server does not make sense. Less cabling. The only challenge is in hybrid environments. Best if you have VM in the environment. It is something if you want to replace a struggling printing setup or if you have many printers across your LAN and WAN. They have a large DB for compatibility of printers. Challenge will be the legacy printers and local printing which may not be supported. As this is a cloud printer Driver approach, internet connection is the key. This is a USA product so support in NZ is a bit challenging. Nevertheless a good product and future thinking. Good for those who work from home and have some thing to print to work and head their way to work to grab and work on. Hot desk user are also benefited as they do not have to install the drivers on their PCs to print - a real Plug and Play. **What problems is ScrewDrivers solving and how is that benefiting you?** This has made our lives so easy.
