I have been a SAS programmer for a number of years and I find SAS Viya a major step forward in programming. It has many help features, enables you to quickly build code that works first time. A great boon to productivity. The UI is very intuitive even for a non SAS programmer. It is very easy to obtain snippets of code to insert into your program. Performance of SAS Viya is great, so much better than SAS EG. The addition of an AI helper has made SAS Viay even more useful. When installing SAS Viya SAS institute were always on hand to assist and answer any questions. Great support as usual. I didn't like the initial setup process of SAS Viya because you have to navigate between different SaaS pages, which can be confusing since they all look alike. It's hard to know if you're in the right place without guidance from someone at SaaS, which implies a lack of clarity in user guidance. Additionally, the user interface (UI) and user experience (UX) design do not have a well-established flow, making it difficult to learn and memorize all the available tools. It would be beneficial to improve segmentation and implement a flow methodology to facilitate navigation for both beginners and experienced users.
