# For teams running enterprise-scale advocacy or reference programs, which platforms are actually holding up as the program grows past a few hundred advocates?

Hey G2 community, still working through Customer Advocacy tools for enterprise use cases, but this time asking less about picking a tool from scratch and more about what happens once a program is already running at scale. "Best for enterprise" sounds good on a sales call, so I wanted to see what people say once they've got hundreds of advocates in the system.

Birdeye: Reviewers managing hundreds of locations say SSO, audit logging, and HIPAA compliance held up as they scaled, not just at rollout. One reviewer runs 400+ users across senior living communities without constantly re-explaining their setup to support.

Buyapowa: Built for regulated markets like telecom and insurance, and reviewers there say the fraud controls and validation logic hold up as referral volume grows. A few noted there's no self-serve pricing, which tracks with it being enterprise-first from the start.

ReferenceEdge: Most reviews come from larger accounts, and people credit the self-service model, reps requesting references without the program manager in the loop, for keeping it from becoming a bottleneck as the advocate list grows. The tradeoff a few mentioned: it stays narrowly focused on reference management rather than broader customer marketing.

UserEvidence: Reviewers like that it automates consent capture, which matters more once legal gets involved at scale, and keeps producing new case studies without manually chasing every customer as the advocate list grows.

For anyone running one of these a year or more, did anything break down once the program outgrew its original setup? And has the self-service angle on ReferenceEdge or Birdeye actually held up, or did you end up needing more oversight than expected as usage climbed?

Past a few hundred advocates, the thing that breaks first usually isn't the platform, it's the advocates. Self-service requesting means anyone can pull a reference whenever, and without rationing, your best customers quietly get asked constantly until they stop saying yes. So the scale feature worth probing is whether the system tracks who has been asked what and how recently, and enforces rest, because self-service without that just industrializes the burnout of your most valuable relationships.
