"Great Integration and Security, Needs UI Improvements"
What do you like best about SAP HANA Cloud?

I appreciate SAP HANA Cloud for its robust security features and seamless connectivity, which make it incredibly reliable for managing sensitive data without needing to rely on external services. The ability to have built-in access security and connectivity with tools like VTP is a major advantage. I find the database management features particularly valuable, as they allow me to easily maintain and manage tables, perform SQL queries directly, and engage with data efficiently. The convenience of managing multiple databases and exporting data into Excel or CSV formats adds to its utility. Additionally, the initial setup is straightforward and user-friendly, enhancing my productivity. SAP HANA Cloud's streamlined connectivity options make it far superior to previous platforms like MongoDB, which lacked in security and easy database connectivity. Overall, the combination of security, ease of setup, and the ability to integrate effortlessly with SAP's ecosystem has significantly improved my workflow. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about SAP HANA Cloud?

I feel that SAP HANA Cloud can occasionally be slow, which affects my productivity. It sometimes requires multiple refreshes and updates during table replacements, which can be cumbersome. Additionally, I think it could benefit from a more user-friendly interface, as a more interactive UI would greatly enhance usability. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Powerful and Scalable Data Management with SAP HANA Cloud"
What do you like best about SAP HANA Cloud?

SAP HANA Cloud is its speed and flexibility. It allows real-time processing of large volumes of data, making analytics, reporting, and decision-making much faster. I also appreciate how it integrates seamlessly with other SAP solutions and third-party systems, providing a unified, scalable platform for data management. Its cloud-native architecture means I can scale resources up or down as needed, reducing infrastructure headaches. Additionally, built-in security and automated management features give peace of mind while freeing up time to focus on innovation rather than maintenance. Overall, SAP HANA Cloud turns complex data into actionable insights quickly and efficiently. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about SAP HANA Cloud?

Some common dislikes about SAP HANA Cloud include its complexity and steep learning curve, especially for users new to in-memory databases. Initial setup and configuration can be time-consuming, and optimizing performance for large or complex datasets may require specialized expertise. Costs can also be a concern, as scaling storage or compute resources can become expensive depending on usage. Additionally, integrating with non-SAP systems sometimes involves extra effort or additional tools. Overall, while powerful, it can feel overwhelming for smaller teams or organizations without dedicated technical support. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Blazing-Fast Test Databases with Powerful Features, But Steep Learning Curve"
What do you like best about SAP HANA Cloud?

Ephemeral test databases for each PR. With HDI containers and instance templates, I can spin a clean HANA schema per pipeline, load fixtures, run integration tests, and tear it down. Ridiculously fast set-based data setup. The in-memory column store + SQLScript lets me generate millions of realistic rows (orders, line items, events) in minutes. Great for perf/regression runs without waiting on upstream systems.

Smart Data Access for “virtual” dependencies. I can federate into S/4HANA sandboxes or flat files and keep tests end-to-end without copying everything. It cuts flakiness from stale replicas.

Observation that actually helps. HANA Cockpit + expensive statements trace + plan visualizations make it obvious which queries are hurting our E2E timings. Quick wins: compression settings, column store indexes, and parameterized plans.

Security that doesn’t block testing. Roles, analytic privileges, and schema isolation let us mimic production access patterns in tests (RBAC, row-level filters) so auth bugs surface early.

Elasticity when we need it. Scale up for load tests, scale down for regular CI. Data tiering to the data lake keeps costs sane for big historical fixtures. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about SAP HANA Cloud?

Privilege model can be a maze. HDI container roles + classic schema privileges are powerful but confusing; onboarding new QA engineers takes time.

SQLScript quirks. Great for set logic, less fun for procedural control flow and unit testing small routines.

Tooling sprawl. Cockpit, BAS, CLI, DP Agent… it works, but context-switching is real compared to a single Postgres+psql workflow. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Reliable and Flexible: SAP Hana Enhances Our Daily Data Processing"
What do you like best about SAP HANA Cloud?

For us, SAP Hana is all about balance between performance and flexibility. We use it almost daily for data processing, reporting and integration tasks and it has proven to be extremely reliable. Once done with the initial setup, the dashboard is super engaging. Ease of connecting different data sources has proven to be best for our day to day work. Also the implementation is not very difficult, we set it up with the help of their support team who proved to be very handy for us. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about SAP HANA Cloud?

The main issue with initial configuration and setup is that it requires some technical knowledge. It is not complicated once you know the structure, but the first time setup for the non-tech people may feel a bit overwhelming. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Blazing Fast Performance and Effortless Integration"
What do you like best about SAP HANA Cloud?

What I appreciate most is the impressive speed and seamless integration. Because it operates as an in-memory database, I can run extremely heavy SQL queries during regression testing and receive results almost instantly. This level of performance is essential when I’m conducting load tests with 50 concurrent queries, as I need to quickly determine if the new model is slower before deployment. The straightforward connectivity is another significant advantage. I connect my Python scripts using a standard JDBC driver, and it works smoothly without any complications. I rely on it every time a build runs in Jenkins, and it consistently manages the traffic without issues. Being able to bypass the application layer and validate data directly at the database source gives me much greater confidence in the results. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about SAP HANA Cloud?

I don't have any major complaints because the performance is excellent. However, if I had to mention something, it would be that the pricing model can be a bit confusing. Since we rely on it for intensive regression testing, I need to monitor compute usage closely, especially during large load tests, as consumption can sometimes become quite high. Additionally, setting up a dedicated database user and configuring all the necessary security measures can be somewhat complex at first, even though I use the CLI to script the process. It's definitely more involved than simply launching a basic Postgres database, there's an SAP learning curve to consider. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"High-Performance, Secure Data Integration Powerhouse"
What do you like best about SAP HANA Cloud?

I absolutely love SAP HANA Cloud’s exceptional in-memory performance, which enhances our data processing speed and efficiency by storing and processing data directly in memory. This capability allows complex analytical queries and aggregations to run in real-time, drastically reducing latency for dashboards and analytics, especially within SAP Analytics Cloud. I also appreciate the platform for effortlessly handling large-scale data processing while maintaining speed and reliability. The seamless integration with SAP BTP and SAP Analytics Cloud simplifies creating end-to-end data-driven solutions. Moreover, the platform’s robust security features, including advanced encryption and access controls, make it ideal for handling enterprise and regulated workloads. The data federation and smart data integration capabilities are particularly valuable as they allow us to access and analyze data from multiple sources without physical replication, all while leveraging HANA’s in-memory speed. Additionally, the multi-tier storage efficiently optimizes performance and cost by placing frequently accessed data in-memory and less critical data on disk. Lastly, the initial setup of SAP HANA Cloud was straightforward and well-guided through the SAP BTP cockpit, ensuring a smooth onboarding experience. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about SAP HANA Cloud?

SAP HANA Cloud is extremely powerful but a few areas could be improved to enhance the overall experience. Cost visibility during auto-scaling can be more transparent, especially when workloads fluctuate dynamically. The developer tooling and CLI need to be simplified, and there should be deeper real-time monitoring and resource metrics available without depending on external tools. Additionally, while it integrates seamlessly with SAP systems, integration with third-party systems needs enhancement. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Powerful and Reliable, Perfect for Real-Time Analytics"
What do you like best about SAP HANA Cloud?

I really appreciate the speed and reliability of SAP HANA Cloud. It handles huge amounts of data smoothly and allows us to run complex analytics in real time without any slowdown. This is particularly advantageous when working with live operational data or during the process of running predictive models on large datasets. The in-memory processing feature allows even complex queries to return results instantly, which significantly impacts the effectiveness of dashboards, forecasting, and decision-making that depend on real-time, up-to-date information. Additionally, SAP HANA Cloud has facilitated handling large and complex data in real time, efficiently bringing everything together in one centralized location. It offers faster query performance, simplifies data modeling, and scales easily to accommodate growing needs. I deeply value the flexibility and reduced infrastructure maintenance it offers when compared to the previous on-premise HANA setup. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about SAP HANA Cloud?

Some parts of the interface feel a bit complex, especially for new users. Managing connections and integrations with non-SAP systems could be more streamlined. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Exceptional Performance, High Costs, Complex Integration"
What do you like best about SAP HANA Cloud?

I find SAP HANA Cloud's real-time performance to be exceptional, which significantly aids my work by enhancing usability and delivering substantial business value. This performance aspect is crucial for improving decision-making speed and fostering collaboration and innovation across the enterprise. Additionally, its ability to act as a single source of truth is one of the best qualities, streamlining data management and improving interdepartmental collaboration. The unified data management system is remarkably beneficial, and the advanced analytics capabilities are incredibly helpful, especially in the context of AI applications, providing a competitive edge and harnessing a wealth of data from the Internet of Things. These features collectively make SAP HANA Cloud valuable to my operations. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about SAP HANA Cloud?

While SAP HANA Cloud offers significant benefits, there are notable areas for improvement. The high cost is a significant deterrent, especially for startups or enterprises at the initial setup stage, making it less accessible for smaller companies. The system is complex, particularly when integrating non-SAP systems, which poses a substantial challenge. Additionally, SAP HANA Cloud's customization capabilities are limited, restricting users from adapting the system fully to their specific needs. The initial setup can quickly become complex and challenging when integrating with existing systems, especially in preparing for full production use. Data migration is a major hurdle, requiring extensive planning, data quality assessment, and careful cleansing to ensure consistency in the new system. The skills gap is another issue, as the functionality of SAP HANA Cloud requires finding or training internal resources, which is a significant difficulty. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Effortless Data Management and Lightning-Fast Queries with SAP HANA Cloud"
What do you like best about SAP HANA Cloud?

Working with and storing large amounts of data in one location is made simple by SAP HANA Cloud. Even with large amounts of data, queries execute very quickly. I don't have to manually transfer data because it integrates well with other SAP tools we use. I can see information more clearly and make decisions more quickly thanks to it. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about SAP HANA Cloud?

If you're new, setting it up can be confusing at first. Some features are hard to find. It seems pricey for minor tasks. Some reports are difficult to read. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Effortless Setup and Integration with Enhanced Cloud Capabilities"
What do you like best about SAP HANA Cloud?

SAP Hana Cloud is very easy to setup and perform maintenance. Scale up is also ease to perform. With regards to usage is similar to On Prem version of SAP Hana Platform. Also this has enhanced capabilities in integration with many cloud solutions like Snowflake which is not available in SAP Hana Platform. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about SAP HANA Cloud?

Scale down capabilities are not possible. Also we wont be able to use through our standard Hana Studio. We need to use BTP Database Explorer for any development works. Frequent use interface change which is making it hard to learn from managing the sources. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
