SAP HANA Cloud Pricing FAQs

Generated using AI
Is SAP HANA Cloud free, or does it offer a free trial?

No. According to G2 data, SAP HANA Cloud does not offer a free plan or free trial. Users need to purchase a paid plan to access the product. Visit the seller's official pricing page for current pricing details and plan options.

Who is SAP HANA Cloud pricing best suited for?

Based on G2 reviewer demographics and sentiment, SAP HANA Cloud's pricing is best suited for large enterprises with substantial data volumes, existing SAP ecosystems, and dedicated technical teams. The overwhelming majority of G2 reviewers come from enterprise organizations across manufacturing, financial services, oil and energy, information technology, and telecommunications. These users cite real-time analytics, SAP S/4HANA integration, and in-memory performance as justifications for the cost. Mid-market reviewers on G2 find value primarily when already invested in SAP tooling. Small businesses and startups consistently flag SAP HANA Cloud's pricing as prohibitive, with several G2 reviewers explicitly stating it is not cost-effective for organizations without high data complexity or large budgets.

What are the key differences between the free and paid versions of SAP HANA Cloud?

SAP HANA Cloud does not offer a free tier or a publicly listed free trial based on G2's pricing data for SAP HANA Cloud. Pricing is structured around custom enterprise quotes, meaning there are no self-serve entry-level plans to compare against higher tiers. G2 reviewers note that the consumption-based model — where compute and storage are billed separately — makes costs difficult to predict, particularly during heavy load tests or auto-scaling events. Some G2 users mention a free 32 GB developer edition exists for learning purposes, but SAP HANA Cloud's paid plans for production use require direct engagement with SAP for custom pricing.

Is SAP HANA Cloud considered good value for its pricing?

G2 reviewers of SAP HANA Cloud overwhelmingly rate it highly — the majority of reviews fall between 4.0 and 5.0 stars — yet cost is the single most frequently cited drawback across enterprise, mid-market, and small business segments alike. G2 users consistently describe SAP HANA Cloud's pricing as expensive relative to alternatives such as Snowflake, BigQuery, and PostgreSQL. That said, reviewers in large enterprises report strong ROI through dramatic query speed gains, reduced infrastructure overhead, and eliminated batch processing delays. The consensus on G2 is that SAP HANA Cloud delivers genuine value at scale, but the pricing of SAP HANA Cloud is difficult to justify for smaller organizations or simpler workloads.

"Boosts Finance and Procurement Efficiency with Real-Time Data"

What do you like best about SAP HANA Cloud?

I use SAP HANA Cloud mainly as the core system that supports our finance and procurement operations. It helps manage purchasing activities, vendor data, and spend tracking in one centralized platform. The biggest benefit and problem solver is the real-time data processing, which makes reporting faster and improves visibility across departments. Overall, it works as a reliable backend that keeps business processes integrated and consistent within the SAP SE ecosystem. I appreciate having everything integrated into one system, which reduces manual work and improves data accuracy in the SAP SE environment. The different functions work on the same data in one system: procurement, finance, and controlling all see the same purchase order and vendor data, eliminating the need for manual reconciliation. The HR team sees the value in people finance alignment, and the finance team likes the reporting and automation, while IT likes the real-time queries. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about SAP HANA Cloud?

Performance can slow down when handling large datasets or running heavy reports. Customization and changes often require technical support, which slows down business teams. Error messages are not always clear, so troubleshooting takes longer than it should. The setup is confusing for newbies, especially regarding accounts, networks, and sizes. What do you like best about SAP HANA Cloud?

I find SAP HANA Cloud's real-time performance to be exceptional, which significantly aids my work by enhancing usability and delivering substantial business value. This performance aspect is crucial for improving decision-making speed and fostering collaboration and innovation across the enterprise. Additionally, its ability to act as a single source of truth is one of the best qualities, streamlining data management and improving interdepartmental collaboration. The unified data management system is remarkably beneficial, and the advanced analytics capabilities are incredibly helpful, especially in the context of AI applications, providing a competitive edge and harnessing a wealth of data from the Internet of Things. These features collectively make SAP HANA Cloud valuable to my operations. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about SAP HANA Cloud?

While SAP HANA Cloud offers significant benefits, there are notable areas for improvement. The high cost is a significant deterrent, especially for startups or enterprises at the initial setup stage, making it less accessible for smaller companies. The system is complex, particularly when integrating non-SAP systems, which poses a substantial challenge. Additionally, SAP HANA Cloud's customization capabilities are limited, restricting users from adapting the system fully to their specific needs. The initial setup can quickly become complex and challenging when integrating with existing systems, especially in preparing for full production use. Data migration is a major hurdle, requiring extensive planning, data quality assessment, and careful cleansing to ensure consistency in the new system. The skills gap is another issue, as the functionality of SAP HANA Cloud requires finding or training internal resources, which is a significant difficulty. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
