**What do you like best about RecTrac?**

I have been thru numerous updates and versions of rectrac and they continue to improve and help for the betterment of the customer experiance. It blows the competitors out of the water in being able to do so much.

**What do you dislike about RecTrac?**

Sometimes it can be combersome with too much to do and is hard to onboard new staff who have no familiarity with it. Updated initial training guides online would be helpful

registration, reservations and memberships are all helpful as they can all be done in once place as are our tee times

**What do you like best about RecTrac?**

The RecTrac software is very user-friendly. The software is adaptable based on the user's specific requirements. The support system offered is also beneficial and easy to access. They also do a great job trying to educate their users and enhance their software when they can.

**What do you dislike about RecTrac?**

RecTrac settings are like a double-edged sword. There are so many features and different things users can change. However, it's easy to get lost if you do not know the specific material or module; this is why the support system is so helpful.

**What problems is RecTrac solving and how is that benefiting you?**

RecTrac is our POS system and a great way to get accurate revenue reports. RecTrac also helps track retention. The software is an excellent tool for membership and activity registrations

We love how they have updated, adapted and improved to meet the growing needs of the recreation community.

**What do you dislike about RecTrac?**

As with all software, there is a constant need for updates. Some have been easy, and others have been more difficult.

**What problems is RecTrac solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The program has made registering much easier for our programs.  We had a new 'experience' this past winter, and with support's help, we made registering and reserving much easier for our customers.

**What do you like best about RecTrac?**

I like the ability to schedule reports to run based on specific criteria and send it to the people that need them in a timely manner.   We have our memberships expire on a specific date, other recreation software doesn't have that flexibility.  We also bill monthly for our lockers, which is another feature that other rec softwares don't offer.  Additionally, the ability to reserve rental items for future rentals works better than the workarounds offered by others.

**What do you dislike about RecTrac?**

I wish that the event calendar had a better interface and was more user-friendly for our patrons

We have benefitted from the ability to connect the online shopping cart to our organization's identity management system to make online purchases a seamless process

Their support response time is usually outstanding. Typically very helpful and friendly, above and beyond when trying to solve issues.

Online registration has increased significantly. There are many services we can offer via web vs in person.

**What do you like best about RecTrac?**

It is a very versatile software.  It has many modules that suit our business needs and the ability to report and link fees and criteria accordingly streamlines our processes.  I also like that there is an option for us to host our own servers or use VSI's servers.  The ability to have it hosted on-prem means that we can keep a better handle on version control and handle updates on our schedule.

**What do you dislike about RecTrac?**

Because it is so flexible and versatile, it can also add complexity and unintended results.  No software is perfect and there are always bugs and issues that take time to resolve.

**What problems is RecTrac solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Change is sometimes slow in organizations, but the flexiblity that the software provides allows us to re-evaluate how we are executing policies and is allowing us to the opportunity to change them for more modern and streamline processes.  Online cancelation with different criteria, recurring billing options, installment billing, etc. are all things that we are looking to execute in the near future.

RecTrac Customer service is fantastic. They are very helpful and easy to understand.

Since we had 10.3 for over 10 years, Sometimes we have trouble with the new3.1

We had a problem tracking season pass play so we can see how many times each golfer played this year.

We upgraded from VT Systems 10.2 to the new cloud based software. The new software allows participants to create their own account and register for programs. The training technically support is there when needed.

**What do you dislike about RecTrac?**

We haven't experienced anything missing from this software.

The cloud based software is easier to use.

RecTrac has been very reliable software: stable, updates install without issues, timely updates, and patches. Tech support has been TOP NOTCH: quick responses, knowledgeable staff, newbies learn quickly & contact next level when needed, all follow issues through to resolution or escalation to development - just the best people. Continually expanding self-support/self-education resources.
Note: I've been administering RecTrac for about five years.

The knowledge base articles could be tagged by software version.

Parks & Recreation uses it for POS, financial - pretty much everything.

**What do you like best about RecTrac?**

The thing that I like best about rectrac is that being in the parks and recreation industry many products do not encompass the wide range of our needs. Rectrac was built specifically for the parks and recreation industry and can accommodate a wide range of our functions including participant registrations, POS systems, golf course management, pool managements, facility reservation and management, and a variety of other items.

**What do you dislike about RecTrac?**

What I dislike about rectrac is the end user functionality. It not user friendly to the public to say the least. Many people that we serve are unable to figure out how register even after years of trying. This is very problematic being in public service. 

**Recommendations to others considering RecTrac:**

When fully implementing rectrac you must create a communication for the public/your external users.  It can be confusing for users who are in the system everyday and a formal customer education program is essential.  Internal users will a while to adapt, but after months they will adjust to the new system processes.

**What problems is RecTrac solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Currently we are using rectrac to handle registration for several annual festivals. We take vendor registration as well as parade registrations. The public is able to register online through our system and we manage the reports and databases to help organize the participants. The main benefits we have realized are that this program allows us to take online registration for a wide range of applications instead of using paper forms. Paper forms and mailings are very time consuming and costly and rectrac simplifies this process.

**What do you like best about RecTrac?**

I like that it is simple for students to scan their ID cards when checking into the gaming lab. It lets me keep track of who is using the space and gives me a graph depicting the most popular times.

**What do you dislike about RecTrac?**

Sometimes it rejects a student's ID card without a reason for it and I wish I could add more options for majors to the home screen.

**What problems is RecTrac solving and how is that benefiting you?**

RecTrac helps me keep track of students using the space. This proves to my organization that the space is needed. It also helps me with security of space by knowing who is using our tech.

**What do you like best about RecTrac?**

What I like best about RecTrac is how easy it is to register someone or check numbers for a class. Getting used to the program at first can be a little challenging but it's very easy to learn once you get the hang of it

**What do you dislike about RecTrac?**

Something I'm not too big of a fan of is how I can't keep multiple tabs open under the same category. To pull up one household when I have another household already open, I have to close out of my current one and I wish I could have more than one open at the same time

**Recommendations to others considering RecTrac:**

Just keep in mind that it takes a bit to get used to the program. While it is easy once you're used to it, it can be confusing at first when it comes to navigating the program, but it works incredibly well. I would also recommend that the desktops used are fast, because if there are any speed problems, then RecTrac runs a bit slow and lags behind, which isn't useful when it comes to registering people through the system. My final thing is to be patient about any rosters being created. When we create rosters or waiting lists, it takes RecTrac a little bit of time to create them, but they're very clean and we use them all the time, even for attendance sheets.

Quickly getting people signed up when programs are happening at the time, like racquetball, it's really convenient to go through RecTrac for a speedy registration

In regards to your dislike, there is a way to have multiple tabs (panels)  of the same type open all at once.  Click on Household Management to open the program.  Next, place your cursor over the Household Management button and right mouse click.  If you have proper permissions you will see an option to "Open New Panel".   ### 14. RecTrac is a quality tool... with just a few issues

**What do you like best about RecTrac?**

RecTrac has been a great tool to use the last year+ in my job. Having come from another organization that used another tool, the transition was a bit jarring, but once you learn the rhythms of this one its actually pretty easy to use. The ability to customize each session of a program, the supergrid, etc. make navigating around classes, rentals, etc. like a snap. The reporting is also very robust, lots of options and ways to customize what you produce. The help files also are great, explaining all of the options you currently have up on the screen rather than having to scroll through a huge document to get the info you want.

**What do you dislike about RecTrac?**

The clock button. You click on the button, the app freezes. Mentioned earlier, I've been using the tool for over a year. This is a feature that should have been fixed a long time ago, and I'm told its been like this for as long as our business has been using it. I do not understand this.

Also, the speed of the tool is slow at times. Its not our network, as I can access it at home and its the same problem and I have a pretty fast connection there. 

Some of the rhythms, though I have them down, are a little frustrating. For ex. in creating program sessions, you have to click into a program and then click through several pages. Lots of this editing chould be done with a simple drop down menu that could pop up on each item, versus multiple pages that each have to load. 

There's also some bugs where to make an even show up on webtrac, you have to make a change to a "thing" (like making it active to inactive) then reactivating it to display, even though there is no other reason for it not to display.

Lots of little annoyances like this.

**Recommendations to others considering RecTrac:**

Look through reviews and really judge the ROI of the benefits it provides. The errors are super frustrating when they get in the way, like flies buzzing around you haha!, when you're trying to work on a big seasonal implementation of classes and events or trying to get someone's fields reserved and you've got a full cart of them and accidentally click the clock button, locking up the software and having to start over again.

It is the lifeblood of everything we do to track and organize classes and participant information. Without it, we'd not be able to do this.

I like being able to program at the activity level versus the section level as it saves time when creating sections

Running reports can get confusing and the connection between RecTrac and Webtrac doesn’t always flow well.

**What do you like best about RecTrac?**

The best aspect of RecTrac is the front end ease of use.  While it can be difficult to create programs and items in the system, it is very simple for our Front Desk staff to use when interacting with students and patrons.  Another beneficial item is the ability to put restrictions on different items along gender lines, age, and student status.  This allows us to filter our programs to just the groups that are intended to be utilizing them rather than allowing for erroneous activity registrations.

**What do you dislike about RecTrac?**

I dislike the way in which the archiving system works.  Unless everyone is on the exact same page it becomes very hard to access old information.  Unfortunately, if you do not use the archive feature, you have to clone or recreate the program to clear entries and this results in having a large number of inactive items in the system.  Another item to improve would be the ease with which one is able to customize Point of Sale items.

**Recommendations to others considering RecTrac:**

I would suggest making sure that you can pair RecTrac with your online payment services for ease of use.

**What problems is RecTrac solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The system has been hugely beneficial in helping us to track usage of equipment and the number of individuals coming through our gate on a daily, monthly, and yearly scale.  The reports function produces both a PDF and Excel version of everything that we would need to know in order to complete our strategic reports.

It is super easy to use, and to teach/train others on how to use it

looks old, the site is not modern, and it can be extremely difficult to find what you are looking for. Not simple enough, cannot complete multiple tasks at once, Rec Trac doesn't update quickly, nor can you use your log in on more that one computer. Sometimes there are way to many processes and steps to go through to complete a task.

Too many unneeded steps.  Crashes for no reason and you have to completely restart your computer.
