"My go-to tool for quick threat context"
5/5
What do you like best about Recorded Future?

What I like most is how fast I can get context on a threat. When an IP, domain or CVE shows up in an alert, I can check it in Recorded Future and immediately see a risk score, why it was flagged and what it's linked to, instead of digging through five different sources. The browser extension and the SIEM integrations save me a lot of time, and the alerts are usually relevant, so I'm not drowning in noise. It also helps when I have to explain a risk to people outside the security team, because the reports are easy to follow. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Recorded Future?

The interface can feel overwhelming at first because there's so much data, and it took me a while to learn where everything is and how to tune the alerts. Some risk scores are hard to interpret without opening the evidence behind them, and every so often a low-priority alert still gets through. I'd also like more flexibility in custom reporting and dashboards, since the built-in views don't always match what I need to show. Some of the more advanced features also seem to sit behind higher-tier access, so I can't always use everything I see mentioned. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Powerful AI-Driven Threat Intelligence with Strong Integrations"
4/5
What do you like best about Recorded Future?

Recorded Future delivers a strong overall experience, especially for organizations looking for a centralized platform for threat intelligence and security investigations. The UI is well structured, making it fairly easy to search for threats, investigate entities, and move between related pieces of intelligence without constantly jumping across multiple tools.

Integrations are another major strength. The ability to connect threat intelligence with existing security tools and workflows makes the information more practical day to day and can help reduce manual effort for security teams.

Performance is generally solid, particularly given the volume of data the platform processes. Searches and investigations feel responsive, although very broad or complex queries can understandably take longer.

From a pricing and ROI standpoint, Recorded Future can be a significant investment, especially for smaller organizations. That said, for teams that regularly conduct threat research and investigations, consolidating intelligence sources and automating parts of the research process can deliver meaningful value.

Support and onboarding also matter, since a platform with this level of functionality naturally comes with a learning curve. Strong documentation, clear guidance, and hands-on integration support can make a noticeable difference during adoption.

For me, the standout is the AI and intelligence capability. Recorded Future goes beyond providing raw security data by correlating information across sources and adding context that makes investigations faster and more actionable. Overall, the combination of data, intelligence, automation, and usability makes the platform particularly valuable for cybersecurity teams. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Recorded Future?

The biggest drawback for me is that Recorded Future can feel complex and a bit overwhelming at first. With so many features, data sources, and investigation paths, new users may need time to understand how everything fits together. Some searches also return a very large volume of information, so filtering it down and identifying the most relevant results can take extra effort.

Pricing can also be hard to justify for smaller organizations or teams with limited security budgets. While the platform clearly provides strong value for organizations that actively use threat intelligence, the ROI may be less obvious for teams with simpler needs.

I also think some workflows could be more streamlined. In certain situations, moving between different pieces of intelligence or narrowing down results takes several steps, which can slow things down. Making these workflows simpler would help the product feel more accessible without sacrificing its depth.

Overall, my concerns are less about the quality of the intelligence and more about the complexity, cost, and making advanced functionality easier to use. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Easy-to-Use Platform with Great Sources, Alerts, and AI-Generated Reports"
4.5/5
What do you like best about Recorded Future?

good sources and quite easy to use AQB. good overview of the situation in the plafrom. like the AI o generate ad-gock report and investigate new and hot toppic. Good alartin and easy to work as a team in the platform.

like the sandbox, qorks quite good and possible to get the pcap, but should be nice if you also can dectrype ssl Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Recorded Future?

Limited WHOIS information compared to other intelligence platforms. Limited Passive DNS (pDNS) coverage and historical visibility. Malware analysis results sometimes lack the true source or origin details, which can be critical for understanding infection vectors and attribution. The macOS sandbox does not consistently handle certain zsh-based malware samples, leading to incomplete analysis results. It is not currently possible to search intelligence sources such as Docker containers/images for indicators, strings, or artefacts of interest, similar to the way source code repositories can be searched. When researching a subject, indicator, or threat actor, it would be valuable to automatically identify and surface any related alerts already present in the platform to improve analyst workflow and reduce investigation time.

Overall: Recorded Future provides strong threat intelligence coverage, but improvements in enrichment data (WHOIS/pDNS), malware analysis transparency, search capabilities across additional data sources, and tighter integration between investigations and existing alerts would significantly enhance the analyst experience. "User-Friendly Recording and CRM Solution with Room for Improvement"
4/5
What do you like best about Recorded Future?

I like Recorded Future because it allows me to use recorded sessions for meetings, which is really helpful if I get busy or distracted elsewhere. I really appreciate its user-friendly interface, which has no hidden catches, and the built-in recording feature that makes it easy to start and report sessions without needing another app like Zoom. It's easy and simple. I also use it for training purposes and as a CRM, which is great. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Recorded Future?

I think the quality of the video recordings could definitely be improved. Sometimes the microphone quality is a bit of an issue too; I've noticed it stumbles occasionally, but it's not a huge problem. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Powerful and Efficient, but the Query Language and Learning Curve Need Simplifying"
2.5/5
What do you like best about Recorded Future?

The UI has improved over time, the more minimal it gets, the easier it is to use and navigate. Integrations such as the sandboxing capabilities make work more efficient and secure. Performance is good, though the query language remains hard to keep up with due to its complexity and how it is not as straightforward as variables are named. Pricing is reasonable based on the tool capabilities vs market. Onboarding was supported well with workshops. I have not used the AI tool much, but its recommended workflows are quite helpful in investigating different indicator types. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Recorded Future?

The query language is too complex and not aligned with the variable names. Onboarding and continuing to use the platform when you are not on it every day is challenging due to the high knowledge barrier to usage, in conjunction with the changing UI and additional features, it can be hard to navigate. "Powerful Threat Intelligence, but Pricey"
4/5
What do you like best about Recorded Future?

I really appreciate Recorded Future's scale of dark web intelligence and how it translates raw threat data into actionable risk scores. Instead of dealing with countless unverified indicators, the platform’s Intelligence Graph links technical indicators directly to real-world threat actors and active exploits in one view. Its seamless integration with our existing SIEM and SOAR stacks is a huge plus, saving us hours of manual threat hunting and triage. This makes a proactive defense truly possible rather than just theoretical. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Recorded Future?

The biggest drawback is the price—licensing costs are steep, and essential features are often split into separate add-on modules that drive the bill up quickly. The sheer volume of data can also be overwhelming, so without a mature team and clear playbooks, it easily leads to data overload rather than actionable security insights. Additionally, while automated risk scoring is solid, some niche dark web chatter yields false positives or lacks enough context to act on without manual verification, and navigating through deep dashboard menus can feel overly complex. "Easy-to-Use Threat Intelligence with Powerful AI Insights"
4/5
What do you like best about Recorded Future?

I like that Recorded Future is easy to use and presents threat intelligence clearly. The platform performs well and integrates with other security tools, which helps with investigations. The threat data and AI-driven insights are useful for quickly understanding risks. Support and onboarding are also helpful. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Recorded Future?

The main downside is the cost, as some advanced features can be expensive. The platform can also feel complex at first, with a lot of information to review. Some alerts may need extra investigation, and onboarding can take time before users become fully comfortable with all the features. Reporting and dashboards could also be more customizable for different security teams. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Exceptional Threat Intelligence and Insights8"
5/5
What do you like best about Recorded Future?

I really appreciate Recorded Future for its exceptional ability to provide comprehensive threat intelligence, which is crucial for my work in evaluating operational risks and researching digital governance. The platform excels at aggregating complex data into actionable insights, which is incredibly helpful for identifying emerging threats, evaluating infrastructure vulnerabilities, and drafting effective policies. Its real-time intelligence, risk scoring, and automated analysis stand out to me as they allow organizations to prioritize risks and aid in evidence-based decision-making, aligning closely with my interests in risk management and improving institutional accountability. Recorded Future effectively bridges the gap between raw technical data and strategic decision-making, ensuring that governance frameworks are grounded in real-world threat realities and helping to develop more resilient digital infrastructures. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Recorded Future?

One area that could potentially be improved is making the platform even more accessible to users who are less familiar with advanced threat intelligence tools. While the depth of intelligence and analytics is valuable, clearer onboarding, guided workflows, and practical use-case examples could make it easier for new users to quickly understand and apply the information. I would also value continued improvements in customization and reporting, particularly for organizations that need to translate complex intelligence into concise risk and compliance reports for senior management. For new users, more guided onboarding, interactive tutorials, step-by-step workflows, a simplified “getting started” dashboard, short explanations of technical terms, and practical examples of how intelligence can support business decisions would be helpful. Customizable report templates and recommended actions based on risk scores could further assist users in transitioning from understanding the information to taking action. "Streamlined Threat Detection, Premium Pricing"
4.5/5
What do you like best about Recorded Future?

I really like Recorded Future's ability to bring structure, clarity, and speed to high-pressure security environments. It helps in detecting, understanding, and mitigating cyber threats effectively. The out-of-the-box phase of setup was easy as soon as I got my login credentials, and that was a smooth experience. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Recorded Future?

I find the premium pricing and fragmented licensing of Recorded Future to be a bit challenging. The platform has a high total cost of ownership and uses a modular licensing structure, meaning that key capabilities like identity intelligence, brand protection, or third-party risk often require separate expensive add-on licenses. For smaller security teams or companies with tighter budgets, the price-to-value ratio for these incremental modules can be hard to justify. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Real-Time, Actionable Threat Intelligence with Seamless Security Tool Compatibility"
4.5/5
What do you like best about Recorded Future?

The utility of Recorded Future can be seen in its ability to provide real-time awareness about possible security threats. It collects information from diverse sources and displays it in a comprehensible format, making it easy to assess and take necessary action. It provides threat intelligence that is highly informative and actionable, helping users to address issues before they become serious problems. It also has excellent compatibility with other security software. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Recorded Future?

One issue is the volume of data, which can be overwhelming without any experience. It requires time to learn to distinguish between the noise and only those elements that need attention. The user interface is quite strong; however, it may not be straightforward for beginners, and there are certain things that need to be configured first before they become functional. There are also instances when alerts can be a bit wide and need validation manually, which creates an extra task. Another disadvantage is that it can be quite costly, particularly for small groups who cannot take advantage of all the offered features. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
