I’ve never coded or connected an API in my life. And I’m not in real estate professionally—just a homeowner and investor with an idea for a service I personally need and believe will have market demand. I hired a developer to handle the coding in an AI-powered coding platform and needed a data provider that could support me as a non-technical founder attempting to get to MVP as fast and as cheap as possible. I have a day job, so I tend to work on this project in fits and starts. I researched multiple data providers and even tried working with the biggest and most established (and expensive) company in the space. Their data delivery models were confusing, rigid, and forced me to pay for categories for data when I only needed one or two elements, especially for the MVP. For example, data points like 'property type' and 'units' are consistently incorrect and county recording data is often inconsistent with REAPI search results. I am basin my comments off of a sample size of 2,000-5,000 property lookup searches spread across a range of counties throughout the United States. Usually your choices lie something between web-scraping (which comes with a lot of headaches), or a prohibitively expensive data provider (think protons, neutrons & electrons, but a little bigger..). These leave you between a rock and a hard place when trying to quickly validate your startup idea and generate user feedback. ReAPI cuts right through these two problems and gives you all the data you'd need on everything from comps, to property details and also skip tracing at an accessible price point. The API was very easy to implement, and their team has been EXTREMELY helpful in answering our questions, responding to feedback, and also advising us on how to make the most of our subscription. But ReAPI is seriously the best value out there. They offer everything you need at a fraction of the cost compared to other options. And even with the lower price, the data quality is on par with many - far more expensive, competitors. What really makes them stand out is their CS team. Lukas, in particular, is a amazing—always super responsive and willing to help out with any questions or issues you might have. Documentation is quite good, took a couple of days to integrate and we've been using them daily. **What do you dislike about Real Estate API?** Could use a little better documentation and typing to make integration easier.
