Unfortunately, this company has unethical and fraudulent practices. They have no customer support phone number and they claim Live Chat but I have never successfully used it. Recently, I listed a ~$200 Best Buy gift card to be sold by Raise after it was 'approved' by their screening process. Two days later, it was sold and I was sent a congratulations email. Great! Not so fast, a day after it sold they said there were no funds on the card and that they checked (after they approved it through the initial process). I called Best Buy, and they informed me that the balance was cleared 10 minutes after it was sold on Raise and was used to purchase an Apple Watch in a state I don't live in. I presented this evidence to Raise in the 4th support ticket and this time they didn't even respond. I filed a police report for the theft and will be pursuing all legal action possible. I do not recommend transacting with this company. **What problems is Raise solving and how is that benefiting you?** In some cases, perhaps the majority, of transactions have been successful. However, a fail rate of even 10% is alarming and not ethical to claim a safe transaction space when that is not the case. Raise should be transparent about the number of failed transactions so users have a clear risk comprehension. ### 2. I can buy discount gift cards on Raise for things that I am going to spend money on anyhow and save money. We buy discount gift cards for groceries, clothes, going out to eat, going to the movies, etc. When I know I am going to be spending money I can visit their website and find the appropriate discount card most of the time. Raise provides a great service and they are prompt in getting your cards to you, electronically. And they sometimes run specials to give you even more savings on particular cards. I highly recommend Raise, for saving money. **What do you dislike about Raise?** Sometimes they are out of stock on the cards I am looking for. **Recommendations to others considering Raise:** Sign up for Raise's emails so you can take advantage of their specials. **What problems is Raise solving and how is that benefiting you?** I am able to buy gift cards for things we use in our business at a discount - like things for the bathroom; water and snacks for our employees through discounted grocery cards. And we can reward our employees with the discounted gift cards. ### 3. I really didn't mind them not accepting my card, but I emailed the help support to understand why my card was declined. Raise refunded my purchase without trouble, but I found out when I was at the merchant and it was awkward and I ended up paying full price cash on that occasion. **Recommendations to others considering Raise:** Great platform to sell or buy card across a wide range of areas. Some vendors have more stock than other naturally. If you are looking for a popular vendor, you can set up an alert that will be pushed to you when a popular card arrives. The discount is typically larger than what the merchant offers during special sales. **What do you dislike about Raise?** I don't like the fact the Starbucks gift cards cannot be transferred in the Starbuck's app; however, you can use them to buy a transferable gift card in the store itself. Most brands are on sale for around 5% off and they often run sales that help you take off additional amounts! Their site started in 2013 and I have used it since 2015 and still continue to use them until this day and it's now 2019! They have 100-day money back guarantee and awesome, super personable customer service! I have saved on all sorts of brands - anything from Target to Groupon and beyond! You aren't just limited to stores - there are also restaurants and activities/experiences available too! **What do you dislike about Raise?** Some brands are not available to sell unless you're qualified to sell in bulk. I do not know what it takes to get that certification but be sure to check if your brand is available to buy or sell if you are interested in doing either of those actions. They do take around 12% of the total sale but that is down from their original 15%. You should also discount your item too - overall, still a great way to convert unwanted funds to cash. Your money will take a few business days to transfer to your account as well via direct deposit or PayPal. It is also important to mention not all brands are always on sale. You do also need to validate your account with a credit card for selling and you need to have an active US cell phone number for making purchases; they do validate your identity for your safety and others. **Recommendations to others considering Raise:** They also have a new feature called Raise Pay. You can buy gift cards for the full value needed for your purchase and spend the same amount you would normally, but get instant rebates for doing so! **What problems is Raise solving and how is that benefiting you?** I always look for deals when I shop online. I combine online coupons, cashback sites, and discounted gift cards from Raise and find the best prices when I do all these things. I have saved easily hundreds of dollars. I honestly think Raise is the best and most secure site of all similar marketplaces. ### 17. I try to check Raise before going to a store to see if a discounted gift card is available. Their selection is great and the discounts can be pretty significant! The delivery times are very fast, usually under an hour for electronic cards. It's pretty easy to use due to an intuitive interface. I also like the ability to go back through my purchase history to see where I've been saving the most money. **What do you dislike about Raise?** If you forget your pin, you have to call in and that's a huge pain. I've been using other software since I don't understand the extra layer of verification. Why should I call in when I will be finished with the transaction through someone else's mobile app? Also, the inability to know if gift cards were used or how much is remaining through their interface is not very friendly.
