As an IT compliance specialist supporting local Hamburg SMEs, the biggest advantage Quatrix brings is its native fit for German cybersecurity and data retention laws. All file data resides within EU/German server infrastructure, which immediately clears our data residency obligations under GDPR. Immutable logs capture every upload, download and share action, and adjustable data retention timelines map straight to GoBD accounting storage mandates. We no longer need to build custom logging or encryption add-ons like we did with older FTP solutions. Granular user permissions and auto-expiring shared links cut down our daily security maintenance tasks significantly. Even our less seasoned junior engineers can pull complete, auditor-acceptable evidence reports through the straightforward admin interface without writing custom scripts.

**What do you dislike about Quatrix?**

There are several notable friction points for teams focused on German regulatory compliance. The backend management dashboard has incomplete German translation, so junior staff often struggle to parse advanced filtering options when preparing audit extracts. Official support materials mostly cover general EU GDPR, with almost no dedicated guides explaining how to align platform settings with BSI IT-Grundschutz or GoBD audit expectations. Creating custom automated retention or access workflows requires manual REST API scripting; there’s no visual no-code builder to speed up client-specific rule setup. Mass user permission editing is also clunky, so onboarding groups of client-side staff means repetitive individual adjustments that eat into our project timelines.

The built-in GDPR framework is its biggest strength. Tamper-proof activity logs drastically shorten audit prep for our German corporate clients. Granular permission sets isolate confidential customer records, while automatic data retention rules remove manual cleanup work and keep us aligned with local data legislation. End-to-end encryption also works flawlessly within our hybrid VMware cloud environment.

There’s little native support for widely used German ERPs, forcing us to maintain custom Python sync scripts. The backend admin panel has no full German translation, confusing newer staff. Multi-gigabyte archive uploads lag heavily, and enterprise subscription pricing doesn’t scale well for our mid-sized MSP customer portfolio.

The mobile operating interface lacks fluent interaction experience, inconvenient for remote file processing. Uploading batches of mixed-format files will occasionally slow down the running speed. Second, the customization of audit reports is too basic. The default logs record all operations, but we cannot freely filter fields or create tailored report templates. When preparing materials for official compliance inspections, we need to sort records by project name, user role or time period. Right now we can only export raw data and reorganize it in spreadsheets, which takes extra time.

Overall Quatrix is solid and reliable for our core secure file-sharing needs, especially around GDPR and client safety, but there are a few areas that feel limited or could be smoother for our daily team workflow. The biggest points we’d like to see improved: More flexible branding & white-label customization—we can add basic branding, but it’s fairly restricted. We’d like stronger white-label options — fully custom domains, more control over email notifications, landing pages, and styling — to make the experience feel fully integrated with our company brand, especially for professional client exchanges. User management and team permissions could be finer-grained—for a small team like ours it’s okay, but we want more control over what each team member can see, share, or delete. More granular role-based access would help with internal security and compliance. Integration with CRM tools like Bigin by Zoho is basic—right now we have to manually link files or copy audit trail info into our CRM. Native, one-click integration — auto-logging file activity to contacts/deals, or sending files directly from the CRM — would save a lot of repetitive work. Mobile experience is functional but not polished—the mobile interface works for basic uploads and downloads, but it’s not as smooth or intuitive as the desktop version. Better mobile layout, faster loading, and easier file management on phones/tablets would help when we’re out of the office.

I like that Quatrix is a hyper-specialized, no-compromise solution for secure global large-file transfer. It delivers blazing-fast cross-border speeds and supports unlimited file sizes. The granular transfer-level security is impressive, and it doesn't sacrifice ease of use for our internal team or external stakeholders. Unlike other tools that add large-file support or make transfers slow and clunky, Quatrix is engineered exclusively for our needs, sending and receiving massive, sensitive files securely and efficiently. It eliminates the trade-offs we faced with other tools regarding speed, security, control, and ease of use, while its design choices align perfectly with our needs as a distributed B2B SaaS team. The initial setup was also extremely straightforward.

**What do you dislike about Quatrix?**

I don't like that Quatrix lacks proactive async alerts. We can set basic email alerts for download activity, but they're pretty generic and don't integrate with our team's primary alert system, which is Slack. It's annoying because if an APAC client downloads a file at 2 AM ET, it triggers an immediate email alert to our US team lead, waking them up, and there's no way to schedule alerts for the recipient's local working hours. Also, I'd like a Batch Transfer Creator with Shared Global Settings. It would be great to have a Bulk Transfer Wizard that lets users upload multiple files at once and apply shared global security/expiration settings to the entire batch with one click. Plus, it would help if we could override settings for individual files in the batch when needed.

Costs are high compared to some other survey tools. I had no issues with the software. I wish they had a free version for college students.

It is a little bit expensive and difficult to understand by a naive user. Other than that it's a great platform.

**What do you like best about Quatrix?**

One of the best things about Quatrix is the high level of security it offers because we generally dealt with data that was confidential, mainly clients' shared files. It has excellent SFTP hosting, and it is also easy to get the hang of.

**What do you dislike about Quatrix?**

We hardly faced any issue with Quatrix; I don't think it has any significant disadvantages. Although with large files, it can take some time but it could probably be a connection issue.

**What problems is Quatrix solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We mainly used it for transferring storing data and files securely. It is a robust platform for doing so and is probably the best tool for keeping credentials and confidential files secure, especially for external transferring.
