**What do you like best about pre-commit?**

It is very helpful for running custom checks before committing. It has a very nice, flexible design. It can even be used with CI!

**What do you dislike about pre-commit?**

The project owner can be very opinionated and often refuses to listen to others in the community (you can find many examples of this in the GitHub issues).

**What problems is pre-commit solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Pre-commit helps us first ensure our own code passes certain tests, but also is used in CI to make sure others' code passes certain tests.

**What do you like best about pre-commit?**

Invisibility when all is well. Things just work, the tool isn't intrusive.

**What do you dislike about pre-commit?**

Lack of detailed explanation of hook file (.pre-commit-config.yaml) format.

**What problems is pre-commit solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Code formatting; standards compliance; PII/secret detection pre-commit.
