Since changing the time on local machines is not a common use case for us, we do not have a built-in solution that could help with testing in past states. A lot of times the help-desk questions are answered directly by the founder/CEO of the company. 5. The PractiTest user license is NOT very expensive 6. Real-time data on the dashboard- can be shared with anyone (all stakeholders of the project) through a link without requiring them to have PractiTest license. Anyone with the link can have access to real-time data on the dashboard. This is very useful in sharing testing activity data with a larger audience at no cost. 7. Detailed Excel reports to slice and dice data - can be created very easily. **What do you dislike about PractiTest?** Can't think of anything that I dislike particularly. **What problems is PractiTest solving and how is that benefiting you?** We use PractiTest for Test Management. Our Testing cycles are now more organized and streamlined through the use ofPractiTest. The run result is updated every 15 minutes so we are able to monitor real-time data. The application integrates well with JIRA which we use for issue management. The flow of data from PractiTest to JIRA is smooth and in real-time. We use PractiTest for multiple projects and we bring in client-side Testers for logging of run results very early on in the project and they are able to learn to use PractiTest for logging of run results within an hour of training. Clients like the Traceability feature of PractiTest- Requirements are linked to Test-Tests are part of TestSets where we log run results- Issues are linked to failed tests. They also like that any test data that is entered during the logging of run results can be easily extracted in a report. ### 19. Once you have figured out how to set up a filters hierarchy that works for your needs, all you have to do is add your test instances, create test sets for your tests, and create permutations for the testing week. The pricing is fair, and there are tons of tutorials for you to learn furnished by Practitest within the tool itself. **What do you dislike about PractiTest?** The UI could use some updating as it's got a very early 2000s vibe and is pretty confusing until you get the hang of using it, and when there are bugs I've reported to the company, they aren't addressed in a very timely manner. Support can be hit or miss depending on who helps you. **What problems is PractiTest solving and how is that benefiting you?** We moved over to Practitest from Test Lodge a couple of years ago, and Practitest has a ton more flexibility in how it can be used for creating test permutations week over week. There are many more features as well: setting parameters for different configurations of the same test (i.e testing out a product feature at multiple retailers), it's easy to pull reports on many aspects of your testing, and editing existing tests on the fly are just a few I use all the time. ### 20. Since we moved all of our tests to PractiTest, we no longer have to go through tens of documents to dug out which release had a test failing, it's a matter of few clicks on PractiTest test scenario Traceability tab. The ability to create a Test Set from scratch helps tracking of both existing and new features. **What do you dislike about PractiTest?** JIRA integration could be improved further, since last few months we're no longer able to link Failed tests with corresponding JIRA tickets. This is no longer a problem, thanks PractiTest team! If possible, Test Set Summary graphs should be made easily available to third-party applications for documentation purposes given not all colleagues would access PractiTest just to see high level updates? It'd also be nice to have Saving and Cloning operations available directly instead of being hidden in drop-downs. **Recommendations to others considering PractiTest:** When using PractiTest, go all in. Move all of your existing Test Sets/Scenarios on PractiTest and maintain/review them periodically. It's a good idea to divide all tests in product components. **What problems is PractiTest solving and how is that benefiting you?** Maintaining existing tests and adding new ones feature-wise has made our life easy, one can even add steps to an existing test! Also, we can keep track of the time taken to execute a test scenario and break up it in further steps if needed. Searching for scenarios that are related to each user also helps with further weeding out the duplicates and arrange tests and steps sensibly. ### 25. This was also the only product that matched our security requirements. Since procuring the tool I've dealt with two members of the team who are extremely professional, knowledgeable and supportive. The tool has everything we wanted and more, it was meant to be just for my team of 9 testers but it also integrates with DevOps for our developers, it's got requirements gathering for our Business Engagement team, plus it is perfectly set up for the types of projects we're doing. **What do you dislike about PractiTest?** Too early to tell yet but so far so good! **What problems is PractiTest solving and how is that benefiting you?** Currently working on a large project to replace an entire HR and Finance system and it is perfectly set up to manage this with the different projects that you can create for each stage and the traceability through from requirements to defects. We also really like that we can create a subtask for a parent ticket in Jira directly from PractiTest. We had not come across any other tool that allowed us to create a subtask. **What do you dislike about PractiTest?** We dislike the fact that a test instance only reflects the most recent run status in Jira. We would like it to show the history of each run in the Jira ticket because we re-use the same test cases for different landing pages that we are testing. It creates a little more work on our end to have to clone tests for each Jira ticket that we're testing. **What problems is PractiTest solving and how is that benefiting you?** We are able to more easily make sure all tests are getting covered when we test and it's much easier to set up our test plans now. It is so much easier to keep our regression test cases up to date and organized. ### 27. The QC ALM product was not being actively improved and was becoming very restrictive for us. We had tried a few other tools but they did not offer the range of features that PractiTest did and we have been really happy with the decision to move to PractiTest. It was very easy to get up to speed and start using. It is very intuitive and is a fraction of the price of the more well known test management tools. The level of customer service is outstanding. They will provide feedback within minutes or (due to timezone differences) the next day and most issues are resolved immediately. There are a large range of tools that PractiTest will integrate seamlessly with. We use the JIRA integration which works very well. Overall though it is a fantastic tool and would absolutely recommend it. **What do you dislike about PractiTest?** The only Cons to mention are, I would prefer a bit more customisation in the reporting and dashboard features and there are a couple of slight annoyances in the UI presentation with column spacing constantly resetting and not holding the changes made by the user, as well as the layout of the screen for teh testing steps during test execution. A more compact view would be preferable **What problems is PractiTest solving and how is that benefiting you?** PractiTest has made it easier to track our testing for the projects that are using JIRA for their requirements and development. It has also allowed the wider project team to be actively involved in updating the issues as licensing costs are much more affordable than our previous tool. It's not necessarily difficult but there are a lot of steps and if you miss something or don't save often, it's very easy to lose all of these changes. I dislike that sometimes when I am setting up test suites it's hard to find which tests I am trying to add to the test suite. This could be easily resolved by having a search in the box for where you add tests to a suite. The ability to create filters enables the teams to gather the data they are searching for very quickly. Also, the Customer Service is Phenomenal! They are always available and able to answer any questions in a timely manner. **What do you dislike about PractiTest?** Dashboard customization does not look as clean as it can be (Admin duties) User management screens display all of the information expected, but it could also be displayed a little neater **Recommendations to others considering PractiTest:** 1) Gain a firm understanding of Fields and Filters PRIOR to migrating to practitest (this will save you loads of time for setting up your projects). It takes a minute to map out how you want the fields setup, but once that has been done 1 time, it will never need to be done again. A small number of fields was able to give me countless filters needed to sort through data 2) Practitest also has a "Bulk Edit" feature that is brilliant for applying fields to specific tests. **What problems is PractiTest solving and how is that benefiting you?** The ability to add fields and create filters provides a very simple way to sort your test cases without having to worry about "Tree structure".
