The distinction that reduces misses is notifying on commitments rather than on events. Alerting on every comment, edit and status change produces a volume nobody reads, while a due date moving or an item being assigned to you is a much smaller set that materially changes what someone has to do. Most tools support that split and default to the noisier setting. Kanbanchi&#39;s real-time card updates are valuable at the board level, and worth pairing with a deliberately narrow personal notification setting. Worth auditing what each person is subscribed to a month after rollout, since defaults tend to survive unexamined.

&lt;p&gt;Notification noise usually causes something to get missed once volume outpaces channel variety, when everything funnels through a single inbox instead of being split across surfaces. I&#39;ve noticed that distinction come up in reviews too: one Hive reviewer specifically credited the mix of email, in-tool alerts, and pop-ups with keeping them on top of several simultaneous projects at once, rather than relying on any single channel. So the fix usually isn&#39;t fewer notifications, it&#39;s spreading them across surfaces so no single channel becomes the point of failure.&lt;/p&gt;
