From what we have seen, the Powertrak platform appears to be extremely powerful and flexible. The Axonom team understood our vision from the beginning and did an excellent job implementing it. We really like working with this team and hope to work with them for a long time into the future. **What do you dislike about Powertrak CPQ?** At the time we began our project (and this may have changed since)...for the order submission stage, the CPQ did not offer the product configuration versatility we needed for our users to easily finalize and place orders. So we are continuing to use an existing tool for that phase of our selling process. But we are happily using Powertrak for visual configuration - our customers can create 3D designs and estimates for a ductwork installation. **What problems is Powertrak CPQ solving and how is that benefiting you?** In order to provide 3D drawing of duct installations to their customers, our dealers formerly needed to use expensive license-based software which generally required specialized training. Now our dealers can use this free, online tool. Nearly anyone can learn to use it. And great looking designs can be completed in a small fraction of the time required previously. In addition, ducting is automatically sized and static pressure losses are automatically sized; these features are not traditionally available with other methods. ### 4. Going into the project we did not have a clear written out process for how we generate machine quotes, but the folks at Axion listened and helped us automate the process in their software. The software is very customizable, no matter what we needed Axion made it happen. When reviewing CPQs what I liked best about Axion is that their folks listened to what our needs were and what we were looking to accomplish with the software rather than in simply showing what the software could do. **What do you dislike about Powertrak CPQ?** The admin portal is a little cumbersome especially the help system. But their support team was quick to assist with any questions I had. **What problems is Powertrak CPQ solving and how is that benefiting you?** Our process for developing machine quotes was an extremely cumbersome and manually process, using excel spreadsheets, various forms and templates. Our complex system creates various issues with software with the flexibility it has, creating an endless amount of rules the software has to abide by. We were able to develop a software with Powertrack that allows you to drag and drop components into a room, build a Bill of material, and show you where power is and isn't in the system, creating a custom installation diagram in the process. The key with axxonom was their ability to continue to work with us and problem solve to get the configurator to where we needed it to be. While there were a lot of bugs at first, they worked with us to resolve almost everything to create a product we were satisfied with. the end result was an industry leading tool, that when used correctly allowed you to see 3D renders, a full Bill of Material, an Instruction sheet on how to power the system and rules that would cause error messages if the layout wouldn't work. it has solved a lot of issues with procuring this product line. **What do you dislike about Powertrak CPQ?** There are some limitations in the software that can make it difficult to easily understand how things work. this has caused frustration for our customers in using the software. Internally we use it often as its a key part of the pricing and procurement process. some things were just not possible, the reason I don't give them lower than a 5 star rating is because our system was complex and we needed to fit into a budget, which meant an off the shelf solution that would be manipulated into what we needed/ the inability to autosave also causes some frustration if the server or browser unexpectedly quits working. **What problems is Powertrak CPQ solving and how is that benefiting you?** Pricing the wrong Bill of Material, giving clear guidelines to install, allowing customers to understand the product prior to finalizing the design. pricing on large projects are accurate, installation is much easier with the layour from the software. ### 10. The support during implementation was excellent and eventually we were able glean the understanding required to handle most new product configurations on our own. Each of our products are custom assembled to order and contain dozens of optional features to choose from, some options being interdependent on the combination of multiple other options. Once we can explain the relationships in a logical format the integration into the CPQ is fairly straightforward. **What do you dislike about Powertrak CPQ?** Although the visual guide programming format is easy to pick up we found that with literally hundreds of options to deal with the visual structure became a bit cumbersome and more time consuming to manipulate and edit than we had anticipated. Both have been outstanding and have exceeded expectations for the user experience, solving complex product design challenges, meeting very aggressive timelines, meeting business goals, and staying under budget. With Axonom we've been able to do something unusual for software used for B2B sales in high-tech manufacturing, which is to make something that is so impressive that you want to show it off to your family and friends. Starting with Axonom Powertrak, the end result of what we’ve been able to do with this software has catapulted our company’s solution design and quoting capabilities from radio buttons and dropdown menus seen in CPQ systems developed in the early 2000s to something that looks like it was designed in the last two years. Anyone glancing at our implementation immediately knows what my company does, what the solution looks like, how all the products fit together, and how to navigate through quote creation. Being able to show what a configured solution looks like in 2D, 3D, augmented reality, and virtual reality with a clear BOM that the user can interact with is a massive differentiator versus just handing over a bullet pointed quote with a BOM table. Since Powertrak is system agnostic it is designed to work and play well with other systems (CRM, ERP, etc.) and has surprised me with the ease and relatively low cost of integration. The ability of this software platform to be expanded and enhanced to meet the unique needs required to create solutions for the data center space has been a key to project success. While Axonom’s software has been great the standout has been in dealing with Axonom’s professional services. Before selecting Axonom as our visual CPQ vendor over a year was spent evaluating vendors in this space, engaging with their professional services teams or SIs, and even performing in-depth proof of concepts evaluations. From the first conversation it was clear that Axonom had very deep knowledge of our vertical and was eager to listen and work with us to build something that everyone would be proud of. The professional services team took time to build out a design document that functioned as both a vision document and SOW that made sure both parties knew exactly what was desired. Then the professional services team delivered on that vision under extremely aggressive timelines and they exceeded my expectations with what they delivered. The Axonom team focused on understand our products with all their complexities and different ways of interacting with each other along with thinking about how to make things valuable to sales reps and customers. Normally I don’t trust professional services teams or SIs to do things right unless things are documented in exacting detail and even then, it’s a 50/50 chance they’ll still mess things up. The Axonom team isn’t like this, as they have proven themselves able to take an idea or business need and run with it and refine it on their own in a way that results in an implementation as good as or better than I could have done. Lastly, the business model of using the Axonom team to build out the core configurator system capabilities, essentially admin engines for unique functionality, and then having my team use these admin engines to add and update products and services, along with guide selling rules, has been the perfect mix, resulting in a cost effective model that lets my company focus on what we’re best at (product rules and guides selling) while Axonom focuses on what they’re best at (a best in class visual configurator) **What do you dislike about Powertrak CPQ?** The backend administrator UI for Powertrak can at times be challenging and unintuitive to navigate requiring some one-on-one training from the professional services team. The performance when using the graphic intensive 3D room layout area is slow when adding new products and with the initial loading of the 3D module in the browser. To globally deploy Powertrak to our tens of thousands of target sales professionals around the world we will have to work with Axonom to ensure globalization requirements beyond the existing native multilingual capabilities and multicurrency are developed, such as being able to segregate by country which products and services are available. **Recommendations to others considering Powertrak CPQ:** My initial impression of Powertrak was that it was too good to be true. Give their other customers reference calls and get demos from them to see what other are doing with the software. Thinking about how to implement configuration rules in a spatial way is a big change from traditional CPQ implementations, so start thinking about how to mirror the physical reality of your product rules rather than traditional decision tables. **What problems is Powertrak CPQ solving and how is that benefiting you?** We’re using the software to allow users to create a solution from multiple products, some of which are themselves solutions created from multiple products. We’re allowing reselling partners to be able to create products without having to engage with application engineers to determine product to product compatibility or if a solution is valid. We’re letting users visually place products together in valid ways to meet their needs and then generating assembly instructions to ensure that the customer gets what the customer designed. We're showing users what their solutions look like via augmented reality and even letting them design solutions in virtual reality. ### 13. We didn't use the product configurator, only the 3D environment. Therefore, the best part was being able to visit the top of cell site tower and look down on the world. It was thrilling and really felt like you were on top of the tower. The ability to see the infrastructure up close and in detail was critical. **What do you dislike about Powertrak CPQ?** It was difficult to orientate yourself within the environment. Would be nice to have a default starting point reset button. Some of the configs required custom development and we may not be able to change those ourselves easily. **What problems is Powertrak CPQ solving and how is that benefiting you?** We had two goals :1) reduce the time it takes for Sales personnel to create a customer quote and 2) improve the accuracy of those quotes to avoid rework by our Billing team. We ultimately want to use Axonom's NetSuite integration to load orders directly from CPQ into NetSuite. We've been using PowerTrak for about a month and we've already seen a dip in the number of orders returned to the Sales team.
