Naviance is a user friendly program that allows students to work with educators in order to make their post-secondary transition as seamless as possible. Naviance has the availability for all of the students information regarding testing, college requests, and their high school information to all in be in program. Some students have a difficult time linking information, as they also use the College Board site frequently. They are able to narrow down their interests and personality traits in order to find applicable careers. This helps students to think of career paths and therefore post-secondary education. Naviance is easy to navigate and has a ton of information available and is easy to navigate. Naviance has a tendency to break down on important application deadlines, and the interface of Naviance with the Common App regarding teacher recommendations is at times cumbersome. They use Naviance to write annual academic, career, and social/personal goals , explore career paths through unique career cluster and key inventories, and have a great college exploration tool . Recommendations to others considering PowerSchool Naviance CCLR: We take time out of homeroom/advisory for students to create accounts, log in, and get walked through the process by a teacher who knows how to work it. My students are very unfamiliar with the college application process (low-SES school). However, Naviance allows them to see what schools are safeties, matches, and reaches for them.
