# Which Supply Side Platform (SSP) tools support header bidding without slowing page load times?

More demand sources competing for an impression usually means more code running on the page, which is the tension behind which supply side platform (SSP) tools support header bidding without slowing page load times. Checking supply side platform reviews for anything specific to load time and header bidding, only three products here actually have review content that speaks to it directly:

Automatad: Built specifically around header bidding as a core monetization approach, described as straightforward to manage without requiring deep technical resources on the publisher's side.

Google Ad Manager: Detailed targeting and reporting support managing high ad volumes across display and video formats from a single centralized platform.

Sharethrough: Native and CTV-focused format diversity gives publishers a way to add demand sources without necessarily stacking more competing bidding wrappers on the page.

None of the reviews quantify page load impact directly, so this is more about how each platform is described structurally than hard performance numbers. Has anyone measured actual page speed before and after adding header bidding through one of these? And was the tradeoff worth the revenue lift in your case?

I’d measure this as a revenue-versus-latency tradeoff rather than assume more demand is automatically better. Before rollout, I’d baseline Core Web Vitals and ad revenue, then test how each additional bidder changes both. If header bidding lifts yield but materially worsens LCP or INP, I’d rather reduce bidder count or tighten timeouts than maximize auction competition at the expense of the reader experience.
