## Polarion Reviews
  ### 1. Good start

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Oil & Energy | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 01, 2025

**What do you like best about Polarion?**

It handles all our requirements and have integration to Azure DevOps

**What do you dislike about Polarion?**

The integration with Teamcenter is something I am missing

**What problems is Polarion solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Handle all requirements in one place

  ### 2. Much more than ALM

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Tommi P. | R&D Process Consultant, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 21, 2024

**What do you like best about Polarion?**

Already realized productivity improvements through enhanced collaboration, traceability, and reuse of information.

**What do you dislike about Polarion?**

Like any tool, the numerous configurable options can be overwhelming when starting your journey with Polarion.

**What problems is Polarion solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The complexity of today's product development is such that you cannot handle requirements with spreadsheets. Even if you theoretically could, there is no point in doing so. No one should have a role where a significant portion of their time and effort goes into manually updating spreadsheet information and especially references to other information.

The true power of Polarion comes when you easily connect requirements, test cases, risks, documents, project planning, cybersecurity, management systems, sales feedback, change management, product architecture, etc., all within the same tool. When everyone uses the same tool, it effectively eliminates the need for the download-change-upload cycle and allows people to truly collaborate.

When you reach the limits of Polarion in MBSE, you can extend your modeling using connectors to tools like Simulink or Capella. PLM integration can be done using OSLC, REST API, or dedicated connectors. We have even created our own connection to ChatGPT.

One of the significant benefits is the productivity improvement you gain when you stop blindly copying information from place to place and instead connect information using links.

**Official Response from Yolanda Dong:**

> Tommi, it's great to hear how Polarion has helped you connect requirements, test cases, risks, documents, project planning, cybersecurity, management systems, sales feedback, change management, and product architecture within the same tool, leading to improved productivity.

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Airlines/Aviation | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 03, 2024

**What do you like best about Polarion?**

Polarion is very flexible and end-user friendly. You can configure it to your needs and build it up so that it is scalable. Due to it's complexibility it can be used to connect the whole develpment process and make it transparent and tracable.

**What do you dislike about Polarion?**

The administration (in the backend) is a bit tricky and not as "user"-friendly as the UI for the end-user. To build it up from the scratch it would be helpful to have e.g a few decision charts connectet to solutions or best practice, because the first base and infrastructure is essential.

tracebility and transparence. bring development silos together

**Reviewed Date:** March 08, 2023

**What do you like best about Polarion?**

I like the simple connection with other corporate ALM tools that use requirements data. This makes it simple to expand into Polarion's Test Management solution or other out-of-the-box extensions.

**What do you dislike about Polarion?**

In Polarion REQUIREMENTS, the ordering of requirements is typically based on their position in the hierarchy. However, if you are missing the ordering case structure, you may want to consider manually reordering the requirements in the hierarchy. To do this, you can simply drag and drop requirements within the hierarchy to the desired position, but this process is a bit time-consuming.

**What problems is Polarion solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Polarion REQUIREMENTS solves the problem of effective requirements management by providing a comprehensive solution that allows my team to gather, author, approve, and manage requirements effectively.

**Official Response from Yolanda Dong:**

> Jacklyn, thank you for sharing what you like best about Polarion REQUIREMENTS! The seamless connection with other corporate ALM tools is definitely a valuable feature for expanding into other solutions.

**Reviewed Date:** June 28, 2022

**What do you like best about Polarion?**

The flexibility in defining documentation tailored to our processes and workflows is great, and the collaborative base also with external suppliers with export and import functionality of documentation is a big plus.

**What do you dislike about Polarion?**

Some features could be improved, like integration with draw.io is not great not allowing having in Polarion the original and editable diagrams.
When a document is signed with a comment, and later, before document release, the same signature is reset and the comment is removed, a message of missing comment is left.
Reviews tend to be slow and cumbersome for the reviewers to identify the changes to previous release, maybe an easier identification of WorkItems affected to previous release or other functions could be beneficial (history compare is already very good, but link needs to be always provided for the review)

**What problems is Polarion solving and how is that benefiting you?**

You can definitely try it or take a demo and get the better understanding of the software but it will be worth it.

**What problems is Polarion solving and how is that benefiting you?**

**Reviewed Date:** October 25, 2017

**What do you like best about Polarion?**

Polarion is a great tool, very stable and configurable, easy to use and great for team's collaboration. I am using it since long time, before the Siemens acquisition, with enormous success in every cases. It has the "framework" approach, letting the admins configure it to cover almost everything you have in mind. I have experience with it and some customers that are using Polarion from requirement management to final delivery of physical object where Polarion were able to create the PDF for the transport documents for courier!

**What do you dislike about Polarion?**

Even if it is one of the best tool I ever used, what I personally love and also dislike in the same time is the backend, that is based on the Subversion. I love it because thanks to its nature Subversion saves everything in a real concrete storage, with no possibility of data loss. My personal dislike is based on the fact that even Subversion can store millions of revisions it is file based, so it may become quite slower than expected after some years.

**Recommendations to others considering Polarion:**

Download and try it, with attention: Polarion is not immediate to use out of the box, due the nature of the tool it requires commitment.
