I like Polarion because it solves traceability issues around voices and requirements. I appreciate having product discussions in a maintained platform apart from mail or Teams. The integration with systems like LIMS and Teamcenter is also a plus. With Teamcenter, it integrates the whole product lifecycle from requirement to design validation and production of documents. The integration with LIMS helps connect to labs, where it aids in verifying and validating products with test cases, test runs, and issue management. The initial setup was easy too. I also value its capability to provide requirement traceability and versioning, as well as track the closure of all questions and comments during requirement review. Collaboration with other engineers on requirements and the change process is smooth, and the flexibility to maintain time-based requirements is very useful. I really like the user interface of Polarion and how highly configurable it is. I also appreciate the ability to create custom solutions and integrations. Polarion ensures that our design control process is efficient and gap-free. It allows us to standardize our risks by linking harms and setting automatic consistent scores across risks. The ability for Polarion to support parallel edits is lacking since overlapping projects that need to touch the same content can't manage this effectively. The branch and merge capabilities are very limited as you cannot merge and branch various links. Upgrades are problematic; we encounter many bugs that need patching each time we upgrade, which shows that the regression testing for new software releases should be more robust.
