I requested a second trial period via email around end of day, and by morning, I had support reply letting me know I was back in. That was a good sign by itself. Within a few days, it became abundantly clear that I should've given Plumsail my full attention ages ago. There are countless benefits over base SharePoint and Lists forms, even those with JSON formatting, and further benefits over time spent developing custom SPFx React form solutions. Within the past month, I've been able to create a custom order system for a new departmental initiative, partially redesign our current RFQ process, make our vendor database much more useful, and add lookup functionality to an existing equipment management list. Because it takes so little time and effort to get a form up and running, I plan to use Plumsail Forms anywhere there's even a slight benefit over out-of-the-box options. This is what form building should be on basically every platform. The documentation is extensive, and many of the guides are also available in video form. The developers are extremely active in the community forum, with nearly every thread receiving a direct and informative reply from a member of the team. The 100% transparent and incredibly generous price structure -- one license for the entire SharePoint tenant regardless of user count -- is a breath of fresh air in an industry obsessed with oddly secretive "contact us for pricing" and/or per-user monthly subscription costs. Note: My high praise notwithstanding, I've been using this software for only about a month, so there may be limitations I'm not yet familiar with. That said, t **What do you dislike about Plumsail Forms?** For some, the need to use JavaScript to customize forms might be off-putting. As someone with only basic JavaScript knowledge, I was initially skeptical about this myself, but the developers seem to have made it as accessible as possible: there are universal field selectors to access both data and properties, and many of the code examples in the documentation will work with a simple copy, paste, and replacement of a single term. It does help substantially to understand the logic, however. I have slight concerns about the use of field customizers for cross-site lookups long term because Microsoft briefly indicated they'd be phasing out SPFx field customizers. However, this concern didn't change my purchase decision for two reasons: one, Microsoft quickly retracted the phaseout after developer outcry, and two, Plumsail responded to a forum post about the issue with an immediate willingness to redevelop the lookups feature to use column formatting instead of SPFx. **What problems is Plumsail Forms solving and how is that benefiting you?** As a company, we use an excessive number of Excel spreadsheets, often hosted on individual OneDrives rather than SharePoint sites, to track data. Migrating these to SharePoint lists is the obvious solution since it allows for much more extensive automation via Power Automate, custom permissions, better accessibility, data indexing, versioning, and so on. However, Excel's customizability for both entry and data display has been a primary sticking point. Plumsail Forms bridges this gap by making it almost too easy to customize SharePoint lists and libraries directly in a similar way, and I've been able to rapidly prototype multiple options as spreadsheet replacements in the short time I've had with it. ### 9. Plumsail handles the collection of submission data. A good selection of form controls, fields and containers with customization options for all form elements. Simple drag and drop interface. Free plan can be used to test and try out the system for committing to subscription. **What do you dislike about Plumsail Forms?** Some knowledge of HTML is useful for more advanced forms. Free plan is restricted to 100 monthly submissions and 100 Mb storage. Other plans add more submissions and storage space, but can work out expensive if forms are used a lot. Forms are stored on Plimsail servers with access via link code embedded in the website to display it. Plumsail says data is secure and encrypted. **What problems is Plumsail Forms solving and how is that benefiting you?** Lack of JavaScript knowledge and web form design expertise. I have found that between Plumsail Forms and Microsoft Power Automate I have everything I need to build robust custom apps for our company. Many are pushing SharePoint forms customization with Power Apps, but that doesn't give you the level of flexibility that comes with Plumsail Forms. Forms, truly keeps the user within the SharePoint experience, while Power Apps feels like it takes you out of that experience to me. I do not write code, I am not a dedicated IT specialist for our company and prior to using this product did nothing with Javascript. The program was easy to pick up and run with. The Community forum is great for customization questions that are out of my league. As I use the product, or if another user has a feature request or an idea to make things easier, it is simple to make the idea a reality. **What do you dislike about Plumsail Forms?** It is hard to find something to dislike. The only thing that has frustrated me was viewing lists within a form, it does not view the same way the list views on sharepoint. **Recommendations to others considering Plumsail Forms:** Watch the videos, read the documentation in full (including Examples and How to Sections) and visit the community to read some posts. **What problems is Plumsail Forms solving and how is that benefiting you?** I wanted a comprehensive Construction Project Management platform that we owned and had control over. There are a ton of great products out there that are out-of-the box functional for these purposes but the flexibility of Plumsail Forms allowed me to use the products we were already paying for in Office 365 and create a user interface that was easy to navigate.
