Pricing: PDFgear is probably the only full-stack PDF management software available for free. And by free, I mean truly free. No freemium model; no ads. 2. AI Features: This will save a lot of your time. Once you open any PDF file, you will be greeted with a chabot. Once you click on "Chat Now", the chatbot will be trained on the document. After that, you can ask any question and get relevant answers based on the content inside the document. You can also instruct the bot to make relevant changes, like converting it to other formats and so on. And since it's powered by the OpenAI API, it's fairly private. But still, it's better not to use this feature on confidential documents. 3. Features: PDFgear has every feature you can think of in a PDF management software. To name a few that I use frequently, they include PDF conversions, a PDF editor on steroids, a PDF annotator, and an OCR that works quite well. 4. Extras: What makes PDFgear stand out of the crowd are the nifty features they have managed to add onto the software, like the Chatbot I just mentioned, the ability to change the PDF background, auto-scroll, slideshow, and much more. Such features aren't generally found on flagship PDF management software, which will save much time. **What do you dislike about PDFgear?** Like any software, PDFgear isn't perfect. 1. Lack of dark mode: Almost every PDF management tool I use comes with a dark mode. More than 80% of desktop users use dark mode. The Windows app is just too bright to use in a low-light environment. However, you can always change the background and turn on full screen, but that's a hack, not a solution. 2. Lack of Android apps: You won't be able to fully integrate into the software due to the lack of Android apps. There's an app for Windows, macOS, and iOS, but no app for Android. Additionally, there are no apps for Linux. 3. Bugs: It's easy to spot bugs in PDFgear. PDF scrolling isn't that smooth but quite jittery as compared to Adobe and NitroPDF. I hope the developers will look into this. **What problems is PDFgear solving and how is that benefiting you?** Here's the list of problems I am trying to solve using PDFgear: 1. File conversions: Thanks to the universal nature of PDFs, it's much better to share files in PDF format. And PDFgear helps me achieve the same in a matter of minutes. 2. OCR: OCR helps me extract useful information from the PDF and also allows graceful conversion of PDF files onto word or text files, making it much easier to edit. 3. PDF editing and annotations: Thanks to the editing tools built into PDFgear, Most of the editing can be done without any conversion, saving tons of time.
