Wanted to start advertising campaigns with Outbrain. For reasons that were not clear to me, customer service has blocked my campaigns. There was no response to my queries. I gave up on my plan and use Taboola + Google Ads instead.

I tried to invest $50 in this company just to give it a try. When I checked the session records data, I realized that all of the visitors were fake. Upon sending them a screen recording of the situation, they told me they put my account in "premium advertisers". But they did not refund me or give me a promotional code for wasting my money even though they accepted this issue. Oubtrain is one of the most known native ads solution, they have partnered over the yeards with the biggest publishers in the world so thie publishers directory is really impressive. The Ads analytics is very user friendly and easy to use if you are into any kind of PP or CPM dynamics. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Probably the main con is related to the minimum investment required by the company to start using the solution. It may be too high for many advertisers who could benefit from advertising with Oubtrain. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Outbrain is easy to use. The targeting with Bombora is getting better and it gets in front of a lot of prospects for a very low CPM. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Although the targeting is getting better, there is still some opportunity. If there were one more layer to add on to the targeting, it would help immensely. It also takes a while to optimize as you have to wait and see where your ads are shown. Often you'll get thousands of impressions on an ad from one single website that may not be relevant to your business. You can exclude it going forward, but then another will pop up and take its place. You can eventually narrow it down and make it more valuable, but my recommendation is to start as narrow with targeting as possible, then open up from there.
