What do you like best about Orion Advisor Technology?

Orion is truly a one-stop shop for a financial planning and investment firm. If I could start our firm all over again, I would use Orion for everything right out of the box. Instead of trying to figure out how your tech stack integrates, paying separate costs, and troubleshooting issues across multiple tools, Orion keeps it all in one clean package.

I used to say that if Orion only had an in-house CRM, they would be nearly perfect—and now they do, and it’s Redtail, even. Every single person I chat with is willing to share their screen and train me on how to troubleshoot and solve whatever issue I’m running into. Way to go, Orion—keep it up! What do you dislike about Orion Advisor Technology?

The only thing that really makes me cringe is having to import Communities fees into our monthly billing. At some point, it would be great for Orion Billing to recognize when a Communities model is being used and automatically run a fee instance for those fees. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about Orion Advisor Technology?

I like the audit logs in Orion Advisor Technology; they're my favorite feature because they keep people accountable and reduce the chances of getting thrown under the bus. On the planning side, Orion adds value for more goal-oriented clients. It organizes and collects the data I need to build trades effectively. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Orion Advisor Technology?

Client portal is our biggest pain point. Our clients are primarily custodied at Charles Schwab and most prefer not to use the portal. The cost basis information is lacking details and navigation is tough on older-less tech savvy-clients. They particularly complain about having to scroll left and right through a box that takes up half the screen. The main difficulty was organizing data and getting it to upload.
