# Which association management systems let volunteer committees work without staff doing everything for them?

Volunteers want to contribute and then hit a wall: they cannot see the roster, cannot send the email, cannot check who has paid. So staff do it, and the committee becomes another job.

Hi G2 reviewers, which association management systems genuinely let committees self-serve? Three worth looking at:

Novi AMS has a committee management module alongside a member self-service dashboard, with reviewers describing members updating information, registering for events and adding colleagues without staff involvement.

GrowthZone gives members a portal alongside community and learning modules, so engagement happens outside the staff inbox.

Glue Up covers membership, events and community together, and is used widely by associations outside North America.

Association Management reviews on G2 describe self-service as something that has to be designed for specific tasks, not a general platform trait. Novi AMS's committee module, paired with a member dashboard, is answering the post's question directly, since reviewers describe specific actions, updating information, registering for events, and adding colleagues, that volunteers can complete without staff involvement, which is a more concrete claim than general self-service language. GrowthZone's portal, alongside community and learning modules, moves engagement outside the staff inbox in a broader sense, but that's a different claim than volunteers handling specific committee tasks like the roster or payment status, as the post opens with.

Glue Up's wider use outside North America is worth noting as a fit signal rather than a quality signal, since association norms and expectations around volunteer versus staff roles can vary by region in ways that affect how a self-service model actually gets used. The post's own closing question is the right one to sit with, since the gap between a feature existing and volunteers actually adopting it instead of asking staff anyway is usually a change-management problem more than a software one.
