We run iPrint on all our nearly 3,000 client devices, and tie the print queues back to an iPrint appliance server. The appliance never has problems, or issues with conflicting driver versions/sets after an update is made or driver profile is added to an existing printer. For our users the biggest advantage to sticking with iPrint comes down to the ease of printer installation, and the use of our printer map which maps our each of our buildings and places the printers, and icons on a map. Not super hi tech, but it's what our users like. **What do you dislike about OpenText iPrint Appliance?** Not much I can say I don't like. Maybe if we were always having problems with the appliance or print queues were constantly getting corrupted then that may be a different story. **What problems is OpenText iPrint Appliance solving and how is that benefiting you?** Management and administration of around 460 printers. Centralized driver management and profile building. ### 7. I use it in a eDirectory environment and iPrint appliance works great, upgrades are very easy. **What do you dislike about OpenText iPrint Appliance?** The driver sore is a nightmare to manage. It often needs to be upgraded manually, not through the iManager like intended. I've made many calls to Micro Focus support on this issue alone. Basically, uploading drivers to the store, which is used for users to download drivers when the want to install an iPrint printer to their machine, can really be a pain. The support engineers always say that they're working on a fix, but it never seems to be resolved. **Recommendations to others considering OpenText iPrint Appliance:** Can be used in Microsoft environments running AD too. **What problems is OpenText iPrint Appliance solving and how is that benefiting you?** In a nutshell, uses can install printers themselves, simply by selecting a printer from a menu or even from a map of the building. It allows me to do it even from outside the campus which is a major time saving. ### 9. Your customer service and support are very good. In short it is a system that gives what it promises, mobile printing from anywhere, printing in any printer of your organization, ... if it is true, but there are other applications that do it much better. **What do you dislike about OpenText iPrint Appliance?** Its current interface is a bit old, it looks very old, something that clashes with for example the aesthetics of its website that is very modern and minimalist. At the manager level of the printers, it is not as agile as it should be to be a system where what counts is that you have many printers and for the people of administration it is not crazy to manage them. Its system of allocation of money to the impressions of users / groups / departments is not the best in the market. **Recommendations to others considering OpenText iPrint Appliance:** Their business idea is good, and I think they will do well in the near future, but they should change the monetization part of the impressions.
